Surely Spurs as well if you don't want the co-efficient to be bettered?

Good luck to Motherwell who's opening season crowds have dropped to barely 4,000. The fall will be steep.

It's not just about the co-efficient though, I hope Hearts go as far as possible.

It's about the bigots failing.

So if Celtic and Rangers fail, meaning the co-efficient drops to a certain level, then Motherwell finish 4th or as Cup Winners/Runners Up and the co-efficient has dropped enough for teams in those positions not to be in Europe, you would be fine with that? You would rather not be in Europe and get any money to go with that if it meant Rangers or Cetlic failing? I would hope not, but maybe seeing the infirm fail is better than seeing your own team suceed? I hate the Old Firm, but if it helps my team and it allows Scotland to be more successful then I will back them and any other team in that position. Its not ideal but it is what it is.

That will never happen. In the position Scotland is in the co-efficient table the only side affected is the one who finishes second in the league. Our co-efficient falling is therefore good as it will f**k over one of the Old Firm.

That's almost true, but Killie have lost out as a result of the coefficient.

In 2009/10 and 2011/12, we had/have 5 spots, but last season we had 4 spots. We would have been in Europe if there had been 5 spots this year.

I hate the Old Firm, but if it helps my team and it allows Scotland to be more successful then I will back them and any other team in that position. Its not ideal but it is what it is.

I'm boring myself now, but I'll say it again, anytime Motherwell qualify for Europe is a bonus, as much as I've enjoyed the last three years, for the good of Scottish football as a whole I can do without Motherwell playing in Europe for a while.

The better the old firm do in Europe, the more money and coverage they recieve. This can only widen the gap in the SPL and make it all the harder for Motherwell, United, Hearts and the rest to compete in the league. this can't be good for Scottish football, can it?

You may see it as narrow minded hatred of the old firm, I see it as looking at the bigger picture for the greater good of the game long term in this country.

So Motherwell may not benefit from playing in Europe, so what.

As a Motherwell fan, Europe isn't high on my list of priorities. Trying to compete in the league with the old firm is still my major concern. Trying to win a cup is next, European qualification is way down there.

I wish Hearts all the best in Europe this season, as I did United.

Proud teams like us may benefit from European runs, but as we only qualify now and again, the benefits to us are vastly outweighed by the constant benefit the shame get from qualifying every year and the financial benefit this brings to them.

The more they fail in Europe, the less money they recieve, the less exposure they recieve and this can only help to reduce the gap, even slightly.

Perhaps you would rather United benefoted as much as possible and to hell with a competitive league. Personally I want what's best for our league as a whole, not just my team, so for me, old firm failure is more benefical for all, never mind our co-efficient.

The media campaign for us to big up our co-efficient, like everything else, is an old firm led campaign.

What benefit do United, or Well get from the old firm's continued domination of our league.

Would you have accepted a £1 million offer for Goodwillie if it had helped our co-efficient for example?

FTOF.

Obviously, or you wouldn't be on here, moaning about my thread.

For the record, one of my grannies is from Sion, the other from Maribor.

What a coincidence, eh.

My granny's Irish, but she's not a bigot, she hates Celtic.

Will that do?

You and I both know that's not the joke you were using all last night, you know, the one that didn't get a single reaction from anyone.
