Stranraer 1 threave 2

Stranraer can count themselves very unlucky not to get something from this game, not that young of team and am sure they will take points off other bigger named teams in the league

I was at the Newton v Heston game, a cracking opening game of the season , Heston will feel aggrieved not to take anything from this game and should have put the game to bed in the first half with five or six clear cut chances , but found themselves 2-1 down at half time.Newton upped their game in the second half and could have scored a few themselves. There were two shocking decisions in the second half , firstly Heston had what appeared to be a perfectly good goal chalked off for either a foul or offside, nobody around me knew the answer, and in the last minute Heston were denied a stonewall penalty, which if they scored would have been 3-3 but Newton broke up the park and made it 4-2.These things tend to even out over the season and this is a good start for Newton against a side they struggled with last season.

Apart from those two decisions and the offside early doors when he did not spot the keeper was outside the box and not behind the last defender he was ok , by the way , my comments were not sour grapes , I am a Newton Stewart supporter and delighted we won the game , but I think he got these decisions wrong and in the context of the game they were important.
