Okay, this post has been about two years in the making.

I started gambling about just over 2 years ago, halfway through the 08/09 season. I finished £200 up and it got me more interested in gambling and more interested in improving my betting with the realisation that if I was half decent, I could actually make a wee bit of money.

Since that time I have read various books, researched online and trawled through a whole host of posts on here (the vast bulk of information gained has been from on here - this forum is a total goldmine for advice and information and if some of the more experienced guys on here had not helped me, I would have chucked gambling a while back and not made some extra cash), picking up bits and pieces of knowledge, all with the aim of trying to construct some sort of system (although I don't like using that word) to improve my betting and increase my chances of winning.

At that start of the 10/11 season (just finished) I had sometyhing which I hoped would work. Its sort of like a rating system (the more serious guys on here will no doubt do something similar or have heard and seen all of this before) and I decided to apply it across the five main European Leagues:- Premiership, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A.

The results were actually very surprising. From 334 games during the season which were "selected", 254 were correctly predicted and 80 were incorrectly predicted.

I did not really bet on the games, preferring to watch the results however my guinea pig for this experiment did bet on the selections. Step forward Cityfan

I can assure you, that unlike some posters on here, we are not the same person.

Anyway, Cityfan got the selections each week from November until March, followed them and made a tidy wee profit.

For next season I intend to follow the same leagues again but to also throw in the Championship and League 1.

The one thing which I do not consider when getting the selections is the odds. Clearly there will be a number of teams with low odds within the selections and this was the case from about February onwards but during October, November and December when leagues are still settling down to a certain extent, the odds on a number of teams were very generous. There were some genuinely wacky teams cropping up early on with Brest, Mainz, St Etienne etc all being backed regularly.

Is anyone out there interested in getting the selections on a weekly basis?

I don't intend to post them on the forum each week but would be happy to PM folk if interested.

Some people might think this is a load of shite whilst others may be interested. At the end of the day, whatever works for you when betting is the best way forward.

Over to you.

Seems like you have done alot of research and work, I'd happily be one of your guinea pigs for the coming season.

I wouldn't mind being involved in this sort of thing, given my normally dismal coupon performance.

A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

Yep count me in as well. Last season was a pretty good one for me, but I never followed any sort of pattern.

I was very happy with how this wee experiment went (thanks again!). Like Fueradejuego points out, I made a decent profit and was pleasantly surprised at just how accurate it could be some weekends. I've tried a few "Systems" on the internet and this one by far had the best rate of success with it's selections. I'd encourage anyone to give this a go.

I don't use any system whatsoever. My betting is based on the odds, which from the 10/11 season was a fucking disaster. I must get better this season.

I would also be interested in getting the selections as my betting record on the football last season was horrendous, it also seems like you have put in a lot of work which paid off for cityfan last season. Sounds a very interesting system.

I'll throw my name into the hat.

My first half of this season was dreadful, although I nearly managed to make it all back at the death.

To be honest, free or not, I did not think many folk would be interested.

I will PM everyone later on today explaining things in more detail but the boss man is right.

I would, later on in the season, be looking for a nominal fee for the selections on a monthly basis however I would provide selections for anyone interested for nothing from mid September until end October which should give between 5 and 8 weeks of selections across the various leagues.

I am reliant upon cityfan here to provide the value for money argument!!

In the end I made a profit of just over £600. Say I had paid £5 a month for the selections from November to March for a total cost of £25, that is a massive return on investment, so there's a lot of value for money with this system. Even if the monthly price had been double that, it still would have been a massive return on the £50 spent.

I follow a basketball tipping service where if the tips don't profit over the season, you get a refund.

If you're that confident in your system, and willing to offer this sort of guarantee (or similar), count me interested.

I like your logic :P

My system last year was to just put Blackpool and Peterborough both teams to score every week.
If anyone would like tips on how to do this PM with your bank details and I'll get straight back to you

That is why it is a freebie from mid September through until early October. I can offer no guarantees whatsoever.

From last season, 77% predictions were correct. I could give you 10 teams each week and you could pick one team each week who lost whilst 9 other teams win. That happened to me on a few occasions last season.

Based on last season, I would expect a simillar percentage success rate. Ideally I would like to get up around the 80% but equally I don't think it would drop down below the 70%.

As I said, happy to give you the selections through until the end of October and you can see how you feel then.

I wasn't suggesting you give a refund if I personally don't make profit on it, but if every single tip you offer does not. If you're confident that over the course of the season that if someone made every pick that you suggested, and would profit by doing so, then it might be something to consider to generate more interest.

You obviously know more about your system than me, but I'd imagine some sort of guarantee like that would garner more support, that's all.

The freebie offer for a couple of weeks sounds fair enough. My next step in determining how interested I am would be based on how much you're going to charge. :D
