Only went for 1 ante post bet this season, Robin Van Persie to finish EPL top scorer. £15 on at 11/1 with McBookie.

Swindon, Preston and West Ham all to be promoted.

Rangers, East Fife to win their leagues.
Kilmarnock, Ayr, Albion to get relegated.

Was thinking of Hernandez or Bent top scorer as well, but can't decide.

Where are Morton +28 points, and have they been forced to close the book yet?

Aye with Skybet. But the bet he posted was +28pts at 18/1.

I'm wondering how accurate that is because that sounds far too good to be true.

Just been looking at the match bets on oddschecker and I'd be in about these if I had enough cash to invest over a year:

Liverpool to finish above Arsenal at 2.20
Sunderland to finish above Aston Villa at 2.10 (I think that one is an absolute steal)
Bolton to finish above QPR at 1.57 (quite short but surely a stick-on)
West Brom to finish above Blackburn at 1.85

Sunderland and West Brom look like brilliant stick ons. I think Liverpool is 6/5 for top 4 in most places anyway, but without europe to worry about they should have no excuses for finishing outside it. Bolton would be the only one that worries me. Cahill could be sold yet and are fairly depleted in terms of a squad. On paper they still have a good starting 11, but they're short of replacements in all areas of the park. I'd be careful with that one.

I have gone for

£5 each way on St Mirren to win the SPL without Rangers and Celtic at 40/1 (wanted to do them to finish top 6 but Coral didn't do that market).

So, come on the St Mirren! :o

Why not go elsewhere then if that's the bet you wanted.

I didn't really have the time to research as much as i'd have liked, or the funds to make a bet worthwhile, but just in-case it come in (to avoid the dreaded after-time), I'd have gone for Man Utd (hugely adventurous, I know), Brechin City and Peterhead to win their leagues as a multiple bet. I'd have covered it E/W too, but those as league winners would have been my bet.

Athletic Bilbao are 7/1 at +38 points in the handicap for La Liga.

Bilbao finished 38 points behind winners Barca last season but have kept their entire squad intact (a few fringe players have left) plus have added U21 internationalist Ander Herrara. Llorent, Muniain, Martinez etc have all remained despite constant speculation.

With new coach Bielsa in charge, the team is now capable of pushing on particularly with Atletico and Villarreal arguably weaker than last season and Sevilla still going through a transitional period.

7/1 offers really good value.

Only Messi or Ronaldo will win the Pichichi and you can get at least 2/1 on Ronaldo and 5/2 on Messi if you shop around if you want a wee bit of guaranteed cash at the end of the season.

Baptista at 66/1 could be worth an e/w bet especially if he can steer clear of injury.

This isn't strictly 'ante-post', but this seems like the best place to post my following musings:-

Man Utd are currently 6/1 third-favourites for this seasons Champions League, and while there are weaknesses in their side, I can't help but feel that's much on the generous side. I also feel it could be a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to their recent poor 3-3 home draw with FC Basel.

They have a strong defence (granted not as experienced as it has been in recent years), but going through their side, I really don't see much (if anything) to justify the current odds.

I'd favour Barcelona to win it (currently strong favourites) but I wouldn't have thought Man Utd would be so far behind them at this stage of the competition.

Lovely bit of after-timing here but theres a reason to discuss ante post........

After the Champions League Final i won quite a considerable amount of money. Barca at evens with PP was just too appealing so lumped a fair whack on it plus Pedro first goal at 8/1.

I decided to look into what price Germany and Spain were for the Euros. 5/1 & 4/1 respectively at the time of the CL Final.

I placed £250 on each of them @ said prices. I then decided each week to put £20 on both of them as many weeks as i could afford. didnt really think much of it, whilst gettin a few different prices on them( 4/1(G) & 7/2(S)).... I got all my slips together last night...

So i have £470 on Germany predominetly at 5/1 & 9/2.
And i have £550 on Spain mainly around 4/1 & 7/2 marks.

I havent really felt the 'pinch' as such for layin what will be one of my biggest bets.

Anyone else ever done this kind of thing??

Had 9 quid on a Man U, Barca, Bayern, Lyon, AC Milan, Ajax and Celtic Posted Image

1 quid on those 7 and add on Dundee, Peterhead, Sparta Prague and Anderlecht Posted Image

The first one will come off when Man City cave and Lyon, AC and Ajax's quality show through. Oh and when Rangers go bust Posted Image

And that was not a good start, losing the Doctor at this stage of the game is pretty catastrophic, the Mafia will be creaming themselves after that kill. Particularly when the Doctor is as skilful a player as Forehead is.

Posted Image Only Celtic are top just now out of that first line. Sparta and Anderlecht are in those four additions.

So DJP, I followed your advice at the start of the season and went for Swindon 10 e/w at 10/1. After calling you all the names under the sun midseason it is now looking alot more promising. Now do you think I should lay off the win part as it is now around 1.35 or do you think Swindon have enough to get over the line now?

As for my other bets, Aguero top scorer looks humped by RVP but he might sneak a place. Got 10 e/w at 16/1 so even a place would be a nice return.

Blue could yet pull it out the bag for me with his tip for QPR to finish bottom and QPR to go down, which is increasingly looking like a possibility! Got 10 on them to finish bottom at 7/1 and 10 on them to go down at 2.7
And somewhere in the distance, the gambler he broke even !!

Some absolutely honking bets

Mine was Liverpool to finish in the top 4, which is looking increasingly unlikely :(
