Is anyone getting the ultimate or special editions? With the special edition you get 18 gold packs for ultimate team and the ultimate edition gives you 24 gold packs. I'll probably end up getting the ultimate edition as it's only 44.99 in game

Ultimate team was the best way to play FIFA for me so I think I may look into getting the Ultimate edition.

I think the last FIFA game I got was 2005. I don't really see the appeal in buying each yearly instalment, it's a rip off.

Any news on the Ultimate Team in this edition? That's the only bit worth playing it for.

£40 a year isn't much in the grand scheme of things. You could always put away some money each month to save up for it....
Fair doos if that's what you're into. I don't think there's enough of a difference to the games each year other than updated squads to make it worth the money. I also haven't bought a Football Manager game since 2008 and still play that one now. Maybe I'm just tight or too used to the way it is with PC gaming. Good games last for years and years before the next one is made.

If you play the game a lot you will notice the differences every year. Some are subtle, some affect the gameplay considerably. The physics engine has improved a lot over the last few years for starters.
On Fifa 09 you could set up a team with everyone in defence apart from Ronaldo/Eto'o up front and you could just do chipped through balls over the defence for him to sprint on to and score. Online games soon became a joke with the number of wee dicks doing it. 10 addressed the problem and made it harder to use the aerial through balls and made things like strength etc more important so you couldn't just breeze past folk. We also had full 360 degree control of players instead of 8 way.
11 has improved on all of this and plays more like a proper game of football than ever. The keepers are less flakey and don't get caught out with chipped shots nearly as much, I hardly see anyone try it online.
With Ultimate Team also being refined every year theres more than enough reason to buy it.

If FIFA could some way to limit the effectiveness of cutbacks and that irritating little one two chipped through ball as well as some of the positional problems with the defence they'd have a near perfect football game.

I personally limit the amount of cutbacks by tackling the guy before he gets to the byeline, just a thought.
Aye, Good luck in life.

Did some guy with a twisted sense of humour give Alan Smith lots of 'R's' in his script?

Agree with this. Too many people are playing the wee one two chip in behind the defence and it's really boring. It's easy to cut out but I hate playing people who do it all the time, so predictable.

I hate it when your winger is running down the wing and the striker on that side runs to the outside of the winger. GET IN THE BOX FFS!!!!

If you go to custom tactics and change the team crossing settings to 100 it definitely helps as more people run into the box when theres a chance a cross will come in. Still not completely perfect and shouldnt happen in the first place, but it's annoying having your striker run towards you rather than into the box.
Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!
