Firhill would be the most likely ground, I would imagine, with the Warriors moving out and their sponsor going bust.

A friend (Thistle supporting) mentioned this as a possibility the other day. It seems we're mulling over the idea of installing an artificial surface at Firhill which wouldn't be as prone to wear and tear as the current pitch.

How anyone can argue the case for us leaving broadwood is beyong me ...

Most clubs look forward to home games as a source of income where as it costs us to play at our home stadia..

The club needs to be in their own destiny and time people like jedi and others need to realise its more to do with the future of the club than their walking distance from home to stadium..

Having only witnessed one season at shawfield being back on the road is nothing new to me and fair chance we might loose some broadwood locals though im certain we'll prob pick up some plenty old faces who stopped going to broadwood for various reasons..

I always said moving was the best thing for the club now, what I am arguing is that if the board don't become competent at managing their own affairs the next move will fail as well.

Fans that bury their head in the sand and think the board do a good job are doing no-one any favours.

I think you do the current board a bit of a dis-service here by saying that the board are doing a bad job.

Its quite right to question things at the club and I have issues around much of the uncertainty (specifically the departure date, who we will share with, for how long, what the terms of ceasing the lease are and possibly most importantly some form of certainty about the EK move).

The current board are light years ahead of some of the balloons were had in the past 5-10 years and as far as I can see have done little to warrant your comments. They are not perfect, but I'd be interested in the context of what they've had to contend with in the past few years what they've done so wrong.

Im sure a lot more will be found out over the next 3-6 months.

I'm not sure as of yet what i'd prefer. Staying at Broadwood is good for me personally in a travelling perspective.

Moving to EK has apparent advantages for the club as a whole and if so im all for it but this was also the case when Clyde moved to Cumbernauld.

I keep forgetting to mention this, but William Hill in Condorrat were giving out complimentary tickets just before the Peterhead match a few weeks ago, as they were the season ticket partner for that week. Only one person took a ticket.

The people of Cumbernauld clearly aren't interested in the club. I believe this is partly down to the club, because there wasn't much effort put in to get people through the gates up until recent years with the £5 child season tickets, season ticket discounts etc. I agree that it is time to move out of Cumbernauld, but the people who are blaming the people of Cumbernauld are absolute idiots. Yes, the majority of people haven't been interested, but the club showed no interest either IMO.

Will EK be the right move? Who knows. We will be better off there definately, as we won't be paying extraordinary rent, owning the stadium etc. But the people of EK must be encouraged to support Clyde from the moment we move there, or we will end up with the same boring old b*****ds supporting us in 10 years time :P

My own thoughts is that the chairman is a Clyde man who will see us through the move and pass the helm onto someone else once its confirmed that we're safe and secure. Personally I'd like to see what sort of things he can do in regards to encouraging people in ek to come along. And Scott I never knew about the William hill ticket giveaway, probably no one but the punters in the shop did.

Caldwell is actually a great centre half however consistency can be an issue for him, technically his distribution of the ball for a defender is as good as Pique or Puyol.

That just proves that the club have failed to encourage people to come along. You know better than anyone that the shop in question is the only WH for miles and gets quite busy at times. If only one person out of the amount of people (probably over 100) that go into that shop takes a free ticket then there's sometimes wrong. The football on offer might not be the best but one would think that an opportunity to watch league football for free would be more widely appreciated.

From what i've heard the move to EK Thistle is off and been swept under the carpet on the EK side. EK Thistle are planning a 1000 seated stand at the Show Park with an artificial pitch, Two 5/7 a side parks outside the stand and a grass park outside too. I don't think anyone is entirely sure how this is all going to be paid for. They had a few line in the local rag asking for professional people to help them...All sounds a bit Mickey Mouse to me. Bring a brick.

Not sure what side has called off the 'deal' if you can call it that but Clyde will not be moving in with EK Thistle. Doesn't mean they won't ever move to EK, Just not with Thistle.

Don't think Clyde playing in a 1000 seated ground would be such a good idea anyway. You guys might be on the up again one of these days and it would severely restrict your earning power if you got back to division 1 and every game was all ticket ....Bad idea me thinks

Didn't say it was a fact but the people i know are football people in EK and according to them Mr Drummond at EK Thistle knows the deal is dead but has swept it under the carpet.

The biggest problem Clyde have with the EK Thistle deal is that Mr Drummond is so intent on trying to get one over on the the Keans at EKFC that he basically comes out with a lot of shite. This next plan is the third plan Mr Drummond has come up with, Each time watering down the last one and each time with no explanations as to how it will be financed (in fact the first plan was the Keans whom he fell out with )

I wouldn't mind Clyde in EK but there may be better options . If your going to rely on Drummond at EK Thistle you might have a very long wait. He's not exactly got a great record.

We should get enough money from the Hearts friendly to build a new stadium so this shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, still EK for me. No change has happened in the consultation, and there certainly wasnt anything in a local rag looking for support. There may well be hurdles to jump in the future, but above is just conjecture and mainly guesswork based on no facts at all.

Has more bumps than the Glasgow Area 5's thread, not much worse than the pitch on Saturday mind you!

This. The recently erected pitches should be more than adequate. Good transport links to Glasgow, the Central belt and Edinburgh. Pre match pints in the Duke.

Eh no it's not, I think you'll find it's all pretty true including the bit about the EK News. One page in from the back down the bottom
