I would like it if we've signed him. I think the gaffer will go down the loanee route for another striker if John Baird leaves though.

No need, the God amongst strikers that is John Stewart just got released.

You can sign him, Baird was a Clyde reject as well, so maybe you can turn his career around too?

Honestly, do you think someone will actually buy Baird (under contract for another year)? He had a decent season, but can't see clubs splashing the cash for him!

One of which was Dundee. I haven't seen them mentioned in relation to him here, but know they offered him a contract at the season end.

Brown.

It's true. It makes no odds to me whether you believe it or not. I don't see the Dees handing out two-year contracts though.

K. I know a few folk he still keeps in touch with he met through here so I'll ask around.

Would be a good signing if true, would help bring young McIntosh on.

We are light in the striking department. I'm not sure if I want hime back or not. I'm sure he will have figured out that he would be 3rd choice at Livi so whether he would be up for that is the key. I also would be a bit miffed if we were handing out 2 year deals to third choice strikers.

Hes not quite a Dobbie type talent, but he works hard and chips in with quite a few goals regardless where hes been. Despite being a journeyman hes very capable for this level. I'd take him over a dud like Di Giacomo or Kean anyday.

He also held talks with two other teams. It does sound like the daft kind of contract we'd throw about, though. But Queens offered more earlier in the season, so I'm holding out that Morton might have offered him a higher salary this time around. Underwhelming, would be my adjective of the day.

You will be surprised, would be a great signing for any team at this level.

It wont be County. Jimmy away on holiday, possible new gaffer coming in. Surely we will sort out the gaffer job before we start offering 2 year contracts.

I imagine George Adams plays some role in offering contracts to 'transfer targets'.

Ross County's head coach has hee haw to do with signing players. It's eminently possible that it's us. It has us writ large all over it, in fact. I do like how the player himself has turned this into a strangely tense waiting period.

I would be surprised if it is Morton as we have a pretty strict wage cap this season which is probably below what McMenamim would want and, generally, we are not handing out two year contracts (although we did re-sign Tidser on a three year deal)
I plan on living forever! So far, so good!

Fair enough - not an ideal philosophy though. I would much prefer it if Mr Adams would concentrate on filling the vacant manager position.

Incidentally, I rate McMennimin and would not be adverse to seeing him in a County shirt next season.

At the moment there are no prolific strikers available at this level. Just journeymen like McMenamin. The best most teams can hope for is a loan signing from a bigger club or a lucky find, such as Bachirou for Morton.

Or Andy Jackson and Peter MacDonald, who are both available, far better players than McMenamin and linked with Morton.

True, but if they were to stay fit they'd be good signings for anyone in this division. Big if, but I'd rather take a gamble on the fitness of those two than sign more mediocrities like McMenamin.

I don't think there is any stats out there that suggest McDonald or Jackson are far better players than McMenamin.

Just spotted Colin Mcmenamin coming out of Wimpy in Dingwall, munching on a cheeseburger. Seems like it's us.

Hang on, did you not break the John Stewart to Raith Rovers exclusive? I see what you're doing here...

Personally I'd be quite happy to land McMenamin, although hopefully we'll hold on to Barrowman too.

Must be high wage packet if he's eating out at Wimpy.
