... a team other than Queens! He tweeted this a few mins ago

Quote

Things didn't work out at queens. Had a great 6 months in which I loved every minute. Time for pastures new. Signing a 2year deal today!!!!

It's been rumoured that he had meetings with possibly three other Div 1 sides, so where has he gone?

Done well during his time with Queens, I doubt we could offer a two year deal though so him going elsewhere is understandable.

Is he on big money? If that's the case, we won't be signing him.

First I've heard of it! Last I heard Morton were looking at Jackson and MacDonald of St Johnstone.

Depends what you class as big money, £250 a week may be big money at Raith.

Just a guess. I wouldn't expect him to make the step up to SPL and theres no clubs down here that could offer him the wages he'd be after. Can't see him coming back to Dens.

I'd say it was between Falkirk and Morton.

I'd take him back if by the end of the summer we don't have other options in place. At the moment I'd say no.

It's amazing how these non goalscoring strikers have so many teams queuing up for them.

I'm a little worried that a 2 year deal means us. We don't do three year deals, and I know he was linked with us only for QOS to outbid us.

At the moment there are no prolific strikers available at this level. Just journeymen like McMenamin. The best most teams can hope for is a loan signing from a bigger club or a lucky find, such as Bachirou for Morton.

I think he got 12 goals last season, hardly non goalscoring. I thought he was pretty average before he signed for us, but he works hard for the team like many strikers such as Stewart Kean, Andrew Barrowman and Graeme Weir have done for us in the past. He does all that and puts the ball in the net.

Good business by whoever gets him.

McMenamin was great at Dens, does a lot of the hard work and was crucial to Curier getting goals when their partnership was on the go. He makes some woeful decisions though (passing rather than shooting or shooting rather than passing) but works his socks off for the cause and as was said is good for 10 or so goals a season.

Does tend to miss sitters though!

Big loss. Was our best player along with Craig Reid since he signed.

Good luck to him though.

He also held talks with two other teams. It does sound like the daft kind of contract we'd throw about, though. But Queens offered more earlier in the season, so I'm holding out that Morton might have offered him a higher salary this time around. Underwhelming, would be my adjective of the day.

It seems that when we offered him a contract he needed to see where he stood at queens and now they have let him go :)

Just like a lot of fans here I was underwhelmed by the prospect of signing McMenamin! How wrong we all were. Whoever has signed him have got themselves an awesome hard working player who has an excellent football brain and know his way to goal. His technique is also very good so whoever has signed him have got themselves a top notch 1st division striker.
