So fans can post players released from their clubs.

I imagine alot will be told this week? Am I right in thinking alot of SPL clubs have already told their youngsters?

So far confirmed released:
Derek Holmes
David Lilley
Willie McLaren

Colin McMenamin has also departed, accepting a two year deal from Ross County in preference to a lower value one year contract offer from us.

We have been left to presume at this point that everyone else is getting offered something though we don't expect many to take what will inevitably be reduced offers.

Jimmy Nicholl has begun his plans for life in the 2nd Division after releasing 6 first team players this week - David Hay, Richard Vauls, Bob Malcolm, Lee Makel, Stevie Crawford and John Dempster.

Long-serving David Hay joined the club from Brechin City in 2005 and won 3 promotions during his 6-year spell at Central Park. He was again the number 1 for the majority of the 1st Division campaign and made his 201st league appearances againt Brechin last week.

John Dempster was a January 2008 signing from Stenhousemuir and the popular forward's goals played a key part in the Blue Brazil's climb from the 3rd to the 1st Division.

19-year old Northern-Irish full-back Ritchie Vauls signed up at Central Park last summer from Stafford Rangers but failed to establish himself in the 1st team.

Veterans Lee Makel (38) and Stevie Crawford (37) joined up from Ostersunds FK and East Fife respectively during the January transfer window while former Ranger Bob Malcolm signed in March but spent most of his spell on the sidelines due to a back injury.

Thanks to all players for their efforts.

Nicholl has offered contracts to the remainder of his squad with a number expected to put pen-to-paper in the coming weeks while Lewis Coult is under contract along with young full-timers Kyle Miller, Steven Bennett, Liam Callaghan, Lewis Milne and Jamie Pyper

Is there any way this thread could be pointed in the direction of a supporter from every team in Scotland? I'm going to be updating my football manager database tomorrow with all the squad and divisional changes, and it would be a lot easier to work on if a representitive from every side just posted who they've signed/sold/released in this thread. Cheers.

Albion Rovers release Alan Benton and Darren Smith. A big thanks to Alan for four years of excellent service for the club!
Now some of you may not agree with my methods and techniques I employ. To those people, all I will say to you, is let us save this mans life and we can have a post mortem afterwards.

Off on a slight tangent here, but weren't both Crawford and Makel player/managers at their respective previous clubs (before dismissal/change of club)? I could, of course be utterly wrong or out of date here, but I just thought I'd bring it up. If this was the case though, I'm wondering how many others have went back from management into playing professional football again (similar to Brewster, though I know he was player/assistant manager at Ross County after being sacked by Caley)?

Tommy Bryce came back to us as a player after leaving Partick Thistle as player/manager.

John O'Neill has returned to playing junior football (but professionally) since being sacked at Stirling Albion.

I think Rowan Alexander returned to playing junior briefly after leaving us as manager.

Davie Irons definitely returned to playing for Threave after departing as Morton manager. He has since returned to management with Stenhousemuir of course.

That's four with a Queen of the South connection anyway.
