It's the only game that makes my PC lag a bit at times. Extremely beautiful game. The combat was pretty hard to get to grips with at the start but I believe the creators made it slightly easier in one of the later patches.

This popped through my door today. I pre-ordered it months ago and had completely forgotten about it.

Looking forward to giving it a bash later on.

Edit: the Xbox version, obviously. ^_^

Would be interested to hear how it is on the xbox because even my pc gpu struggles sometimes. It'll be scaled down graphicswise obviously but I'm sure they'll still have made a beautiful game on the xbox.

According to a few reviews its still looking good on the Xbox, its not gonna look like max settings on a high end PC, but still one of the best looking games on the console. Its port has been getting good reviews and im tempted to go pick it up tomorrow. Ive not played it myself but ive heard its a cracking game. I have that Kingdoms of Amalur but i cant get into it.
I'm gonna throw you in my DeLorean and gun it to 88.

Games w**k, traded it in for Battlefield 3. I like the characters and plot, but the questing is so mundane and pointless. I like thier idea of not having quest markers on a map so your not having your hand held thru the game. But the quest details are so vague, that your never sure where to go or what your bloody doing. I completed chapter 1 and when i realised id have to do the same cryptic quests again i said f**k this.

Dialogue was hillarious tho, my winner has got to be "Kill the sister fucker!"

Really enjoying this so far, not too far into it but trying to do as many side quests as I can and level up. Having a bit of trouble killing the queen spider things in the forest but overall I think it's a great game.

You do realise you gain clues on how ot do different parts of quests as you go along? Like either reading books to help you hunt monsters or just kill enough of them to unlock the knowledge that way. As for story quests, I don't see how it could be any more linear or straightforward.

It's a difficult game though, most people find they struggle with it early on and it's a shame you've missed out by chucking it.

@Standfree, the best combo for me was Quen, Yrden to trap it then lay into it with heavy strikes from behind (wayheyy!), rinse and repeat. Basically when you're not hitting it, you're running away and you should be fine. I hate the Endrega's though, creepy fuckers.

Dude, the game comes with its own strategy guide for anyone struggling, i just refused to use it. I appreciate the gaining clues, but the quest dialogue is pretty vague, i just found question far too boring and irritating. Id much rather play Skyrim.

Thanks for the tip, nailed it after that. I don't use the signs that much so didn't really think of that. I'm now in the middle of the middle of the dwarf place trying to get things for an antidote. The Harpys are a pain in the ring, even if they're not that difficult to beat.

Really loving this game at the moment but the map is pretty infuriating, it's quite misleading at times.

There are absolutely tons of harpies though and the feathers and such are worth a fair bit, selling them in bulk will give you a nice cashpot to buy some better weapons and armour, or at least the diagrams for them. The combat is absolutely addictive though, and battering a big crowd of enemies, even shite ones feels brilliant. :D

What path have you taken BTW? I'd assume the rebel one?

I don't really know tbh, I'm cutting about with a one-eyed elf and some bird got poisoned.

That's the one, ha. The Scoia'tal or however you spell it. Worth a couple of playthroughs to take the different paths, great game.

PS, not think the elf looks like Daniel Craig?

A wee bit aye. Just spend about half an hour trying to find the dun banner standard thing, the map is so fucking infuriating.

It's good but the learning curve is quite sharp, I didnt like it at first but it really grew on me.

Yeah this. It's difficult but well worth it once you master the combat. It's a shame the first witcher game never appeared on console because it's a cracking game in its own right and a good introduction to the story.

Me and one of my mates finished dark souls not long ago and I think that set me up for this differently, it's actually quite tricky on normal and you WILL die a lot if you just fire in to every battle swinging swords around.

It's really well made and there's been a lot of work put into it. The voice acting is excellent and can often be hilarious even when it's not meant to be (welsh accents).
