Is that 1 or 2? I had to use first aid sprays in 1 because I never had enough space to pick up herbs to combine them with Chris!

Ah, that might be it. That sucks. Should've had it either way, every game needs a massive final boss fight.

Only one I have cause I got it off the PSN.

Pah! Unlimited ammo is ace, although it still took me 5 hours with Claire Posted Image How can you get under 3?!? I don't think it's that bad in 1, I did use the double ammo thing, but I still ended up with 250 barretta bullets, about 50 shotgun shells and 25ish magnum rounds.

Nope. I saved Jill but no Rebecca and didn't get it.

I'll try to post some basic time-saving key steps iirc (reckon this only applies as Leon though):

- Get to the police station, run RIGHT THROUGH the weapons shop, don't bother with the shotgun
- Go up the stairs round the RPD west wing, be sure to get the two jewels, the Unicorn Medal and Shotgun (kill the licker on the way back down the stairs)
- When you get the diamond key don't bother getting the chess pieces from the RPD east wing right away, get them when you come back up from the sewers - just get the heart key ASAP
- In the sewer don't bother getting the ammo as Ada (if you can spare it)
- Don't bother entering the morgue/other rooms in the RPD basement (you don't need the side pack and the machione gun will drop your ranking)
- Jump down the dust chute when you get the Knight Plug
- If you're running out of ammo after the first boss, get to the next save room. There's a cupboard you can push aside, using the lighter you can light up the lamps and gain additional ammo
- In the Vacant Factory, inspect the area right of the cannon - you'll get a key that'll let you update the Magnum later on
- Don't bother entering the moth room in the Umbrella Labs - waste of time and will ruin your ranking in the "B" scenario.
- EDIT: DON'T let off the BOW gas in the lab, or take the flame thrower (just ignore the room altogether). It makes the B scenario harder and eats up your time.

The rest is just a case of practice, weighing up the odds and trying not to kill anything and everything. I'll see if I can find a screenshot of the time I posted when I tried to run through it as quickly as possible.

Nice man, might try and another runthrough of 2 and try to blast it.

both 1 and 2 have a lot of enemies that can simply be ignored, its great to actually kill everything at first but to complete them in a good time for the bonuses you can avoid most enemies

complete resi 1 in under 3 hours for a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo :D

resi 2 has a gatling gun with unlimited ammo that is fucking rocking when you finally get it going, take a few seconds to start up so dont use it if you have tight corridors with enemies

the first aid spray advice was for resi 2, i dont think that resi 1 marks you down for using them

also in both games there are parts that you simply do not need to do (as someone said above) once you have played the games through you'll know the parts that are a complete waste of time and can avoid them for a quicker time

Really wish Resi 1 & 2 were available on Xbox :( I've not played either since I was in 1st/2nd year.

Is Nemesis on PSN too?

It's on the American one, which is where I bought 1 and 2 since they're cheaper, even with it being slightly more expensive to buy the PSN cards off of eBay.

Just finished Leon A, on easy as a runthrough trying to be quick, only 2 hours and 42 minutes though :( 6 saves and no first aid sprays. Didn't use any weapons except the handgun, shotgun or magnum as well. Must try harder. Gonna try it on normal tomorrow night and see if I can beat that.

2 hours 49 minutes and a ranking of B Posted Image I'd read a guide that said that I could have up to 6 saves so I figured it was just if you went over then you went down a rank, rather than per save. I've just found another guide that breaks it down into a points system. You need between 270-300 to get an A. I got 90 for the time(under 2.5 hours for 100), 100 for not using any first aid sprays and 75 for the 5 saves(5 points lost per save). So I got 265, 5 short of an A Posted Image f**k. Sake.

iirc i done both A games with 3 saves, although i had some hairy moments where i thought i was going to die and lose about 40minutes of game time

Time - 2 hours and 19 minutes
Saves - 4
Ranking - A

Saved near the start and just before the three bosses this time. Thought it would've been harder on normal if I'm honest.

yeah once you learn who you can avoid and who you actually need to kill the resi games become quite easy

still though for replayability resi 2 is easily the best one

Aye, Normal isn't a big step up to be honest, it's just that being hit just takes a bigger chunk out of your health. And you get less handgun bullets.

Your next wins (if you do it again) will come from being really smart with your item box trips (hint: bin the handgun ASAP and only use the Shotgun if you can). Also, DON'T spend ages in the menu, OR pause, as this counts as time added on.

Don't save before the first boss either, if you die fighting that you're doing it well wrong :P

I think the bullets were just right, ran out a couple of times but knew there was some nearby. I finished off the naked zombies at the end with my handgun just to use them up.

Still had 16 magnum bullets when I finished the boss off at the end. Best trick in the game is that when you combine the handgun/shotgun/magnum parts with the weapon is that it gives you a free reload so empty your clip before you upgrade.

I'm gonna go and do the other three parts and try and unlock Hunk(think you need 6 As for this though).

Meh, better safe than sorry.

good luck getting hunk, it was a complete b*****d to get, leon's B game is a bitch, try and avoid the big indestructable b*****d as much as you can as fighting him is a massive time waster and utterly pointless (i cant remember if you CAN avoid him, i may be thinking about resi 3)

hunks mission is great to play through, wait until you get the tofu mission :)

I unlocked Hunk's mission after only completing Leon A and Claire B. You talking about Nemesis? You can avoid him, up until the end. But he goes down with 4 acid rounds from the grenade launcher and he drops 6 grenade/acid rounds so it's sorta worth it. The last meeting with Nemesis is pretty much the same as the final Tyrant boss in Resi 1, he's even got that shitty speed attack.

I didn't get very far in Hunk's mission, I was in speed mode though, I don't think trying to outrun is the way to go there.

hunks is a combination of both dodging, and attacking, god its been so long

what you find iirc is that you remember what ammo is best for what enemies to beat them quickly, shotgun for zombies (take their heads off) and the lickers etc

Operation Raccoon City comes out next Friday, anyone getting it? I will be. I've just done a bit of work trying to find out where sells the Limited Edition that's available in the US, I have yet to find a UK supplier of it Posted Image For like an extra 5 quid, you get all the costumes, all the gun packs, a steelbook and a couple of patches. Would've been nice to get. In the process, I found out where to buy to get free dlc and shit. So here goes.(I'll post images of the free stuff at the bottom)

To get the renegade pack you need to buy from Amazon, Play (both 37.99) or ShopTo (36.85, doesn't say free postage though which Amazon and Play give).

To get the elite pack, you need to buy from Radioworld (42.95)

To get the elite pack and power pack, you need to buy from Base(37.99) or Barkman(36.85)

To get the elite pack, power pack and a All Star Raccoon City t-shirt you need to buy from Propel Gamer(39.91)

I also saw it from various other stores but only Gamestop were cheaper than 37.99 at 36.97, but you don't get any free dlc or anything from Gamestop and I believe that is delivered.

I'll ask on the gaming questions threads, but has anyone ever bought from Propel Gamer, Base or Barkman?

Spoilered the images because they're widths and shit are fucked up.

Spoiler

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. You can get free delivery, but I think I'll splash out and get the first class (1.99 Posted Image) as it says you should buy that to guarantee you get it on Friday.

What console you on, Ludo?

Looks like the Propel Gamer has stopped the t-shirt thing and it's now up to 41.99, just bought it off of the Base link for 37.99 with the elite and power weapons packs. Free delivery there.

Operation raccoon city has had some really poor reviews, it's apparently hideously flawed with shockingly bad AI.

Disappointing.

Resi 2 - 1hr 50, Claire A. Not too bad given that I stopped for toilet breaks (the timer keeps running even if you pause the game) and to make some lunch. Now onto Leon B - an A ranking will give me Tofu!

Aye, seen a youtube video of a Capcom guy playing it whilst a website reviewed it and as the guy was just standing waiting to play once the guy doing the review was introducing him, the AI was just running into a shut door.
