To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Resident Evil, Capcom plan to release re-mastered digital versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X

Theres also a new game planned which will go back to Raccoon City. Early details are here...Operation Raccoon City

There are also 2 new games for the 3DS coming out called Revelations and Mercenaries, but I'm not bothered about them as I don't have a 3DS and don't plan on getting one.

Neither nintendo or any of the retailers have seen an increase in complaints/returns with the 3DS compared to other consoles

Can't wait for them to be released. The US PSN store have 1, 2 and 3 as well so I might just buy a load of prepaid US Store cards and buy them all then just bust through the 5 games and CV. It'll be a good few days

Resident Evil is so good, I'm genuinely terrified of playing the "Rebirth" mode on the DS version. I'm playing the "Classic" mode just now. Supposedly there's a load of dialogue I haven't seen, including a conversation between Barry and Wesker which gives away the ending...mental.

I think certain assumptions need to be made here.

Assuming he is killing Leon at the end of that trailer then this game needs to be completely independent from the series, just a non-canon game.

If both of those are true then it good be badass. Just a spec ops team tanking zombies, I'm in if that's the case.

Really looking forward to Raccoon City (hoping it's not pish) and The HD versions of RE.

Being a massive fan of the mercenaries on the ps3 (i still regularly play mercenaries reunion online) i'll buy the 3DS just for that but disappointed it wont be on the ps3.

Just been released in the US PSN store, think the European one updates on Wednesdays so we might get it then. $20 for 4(Code Veronica comes out next week). Also they have 1 for $5 and 2/3 for $3(each). If ours doesn't come tomorrow then I might just buy a prepaid card off of eBay and buy 3 and 4(since I own 1 and 2 already). I don't start Uni till Tuesday so I have a lot of free time

RE4 came out through games on demand on Xbox Live this morning. Price is £14.99. Going to get Code Veronica first when it's out next week as I've played RE4 to death on both the PS2 and Wii.

Not sure whether I'll buy it off the European or US store. You need to pay slightly more for the actual card since I'll need to buy it off someone selling the prepaid US card for a profit but the prices are slightly lower there. There's also some other stuff I might buy, Resi 3, FF7 or 8, CTR. Maybe some avatars or something.

Probably decide over the weekend, since I don't think I'll be able to buy a £ card until I'm in town on Tuesday.

Resident Evil 2 was one of the best games I've ever played. Not just because of the main story, but the sheer longevity of it. There was Claire and Leon's story, then the alternate scenarios (Claire playing Leon's story, with some differences, both major and minor, and vice versa) then all the bonus games (Hunk/Tofu etc). I don't think I ever completed every last one of them with A+, but not for the want of trying. Ate up so much of my time that game.

Unfortunately, I think the games have gone downhill since they began, with the exception of course of RE2. It peaked there, and then got steadily worse. Of course, that's not to say that the rest were bad games, they just weren't as good. I can see what 4 and 5 were trying to do, moving away from the usual and introducing something different, but at times they just felt...strange. RE4 seemed very arcadey, not very survival horror at all, which was a shame. Still enjoyed the games, but I yearn for a proper game like RE2 to be realised on next gen hardware, see what they can do. Operation Raccoon City looks awesome, should be picking that up.

Resident Evil 1, 2, 3 & Code Veronica are all top notch games. 4 is average IMO and 5 is an average version of 4 with Chris involved.

The Outbreaks are decent though.

Code Veronica came out yesterday for PSN and XBL. IGN gave it a 5/10 I probably won't get either that or 4 until nearer Christmas since I've still got Dead Island and Space Marines to complete before Arkham City comes out.

Space Marine is pretty short, shouldn't take you long to complete it. It's quite good though, I fair enjoyed it.

I need to get the platinum on it. There's certain games that demands I get it. New Vegas, Dead Island, Resi games and Space Marines should give me the plat.
