Gala Hotspur 1 - 1 HOL
A good game of football with very little chances and two well taken chances. Great goal from Nightengale to put Gala one up and then a quality header from the HOL number 9 to make it one each. In the end the draw was probably a fair result and I'm not quite sure how the ref managed to book 4 HOL players since there wasn't a bad challenge in the whole game.

SELKIRK VICTORIA PROMOTED

Selkirk Vics 5 0 Yetholm

Selkirk produced a clinical display to easily dispatch a poor yetholm side. Yetholm failed to register a shot at Vics goalie, Jamie Lyall. Central midfielder Ranald Wilkie started the rout in what was somehow the only goal of the first half. Captain Ryan Pritchard went close twice, Scott mcfarlane working the keeper aswell.

The second half began and within 20 seconds they had doubled the lead through top scorer Munro. A William Mercer goal was followed by an OG, before man of the match Ryan Clapperton finished the job with a fantastic solo goal.

Hopefully the cup final against bosels wil be next week, with both teams unbeaten in 2011.

Congratulations boys, great way to start the business end of the season

Tweedmouth 3-3 Hawick Utd

A point a piece at Tweedmouth, although it felt like two dropped for the hosts even though they were two down in the first ten minutes. The first came after a poor kick from goalkeeper Kerr was lobbed back in style by the Hawick forward, the second came from an audacious punt/cross/howk/shot from about 45 yards that looped right over him. From then on in it was a mountain to climb for the Ams with Hawick largely playing on the break and attempting to kill as much time as possible, though it took about 55 mins until Tweedmouth netted, Patterson lashing in a free kick from the edge of the area off the angle of the crossbar. Tweedmouth then again enjoyed a great deal of dominance but struggled to break down the resolute defence, and Hawick broke to make it 3-1 against the run of play. Staring down at a defeat, Clarke netted via a deflection, and Robertson notched from the pen spot following a dubious decision. The referee however had missed a stone waller prior to this, so maybe felt he was making amends. Dodd could have won it when clean through but sliced wide.

Don't often talk negatively of the officials, but I thought he was very poor today, largely both ways, although there was some really abysmal off the ball lashings out from Hawick which he really could have dealt with better. It took a horrendous tackle deep into the 2nd half for him to pull out the card and although I dont wanna see players booked, some incidents were worthy of reds from the visitors.

Still, they came with a game plan and it worked, most of the lads were top notch, and good luck to them for the rest of the season.

How can it feel "like two dropped (points) for the hosts"? You were down throughout the match. Hawick were up and the game was surely theirs to lose as opposed to Tweedmouth's?

good game and agree the pen was really soft tweedmouth are a decent team knock the ball abt well but all credit to hawick they went there with a game plan and it nearly worked if anything we maybe sat in 2 much but its a point and a thought well deserved it if we keep battling the way we did the day am sure we will have a chance of staying up

Thats an obvious point, but because after the first 10 mins and 2 goals, Tweedmouth largely dominated. Of course the game was then Hawicks to lose, but the manner in which we conceded the two goals was comical. We are on a good run recently so feel like we could have won the game. The 3rd came totally against the run of play, and if we had another ten mins would prob have scored again, so in that sense it feels like a defeat. But I definately give Hawick credit, and they are very hard to break down, will defo stay up with that fighting spirit.

I'm going to disagree with my fellow team-mate. I can't give Hawick any credit whatsoever; their lack of sportsmanship was shocking. I have never saw so many bad tackles in one game, and they also had the audacity to deny any wrongdoing immediately after. The referee didn't lose control of the game, he was simply never in control from the outset. We had him up at Langholm and he was poor there also, albeit for both sides.
Would much rather Earlston stayed up, at least they try to play football.

im going to disagree with you where a didnt think the ref was brilliant it was the same for both teams there was 1 bad tackle in the game and the ref seen fit to give a yellow when it could have been red but apart from that yes hawick were physical what do you want them to do sit back and watch other teams play football and as for them not playing football a think your way off the mark a thought utd played some lovely football with 3 good goals as well as tweedmouth a must say .A take it your a player with them and dont like the physical side of things as a say most of your players wished us well for the rest of the season anyway to be fair the penalty that never was then utd would have had all 3points but thats football you get decisions for and against so bye now and all see yous NXT SEASON

Well done to all the lads, that had to be our minimum goal at the start of the season and we've achieved it. Hopefully we'll push on and seal the league over the next few weeks and get a run in the remaining cups.

Anyone know when the next set of fixtures are due out? Usually out on the Sunday but no sign of them yet...
