It wasn't a penalty, but Mikey Patterson was clipped outside the box while clean through and the Eyemouth laddy was only booked. He was sent off in the 90th minute after another rash challenge. Tweedmouth dominated the game from start to finish; Nicky Clark had an outstanding game, the Eyemouth lads couldn't get close to him. Nicky opened the scoring with a 20 yard free kick before Gary Robertson scored a header at the near post. Robertson put away the incorrectly awarded penalty to put us 3-0 up at half-time, despite the keeper getting a good hand to it. Robertson completed his hattrick 5 minutes into the 2nd half with another header. Peter Paxton scored his 2nd goal of the season with a well struck half volley from the edge of the box, which went in off the post.
Definitely one of our best performances this season, and certainly a good feeling after the 7-1 humping they gave us in November at the 5 arches. We could have scored more but for a few excellent saves by the Eyemouth keeper. Paulson in the Tweedmouth goal was rarely troubled and it was important that we kept a clean sheet yesterday after being in the same position against Earlston last weekend before conceding 3 goals in the last 15 minutes which brought unnecessary pressure on ourselves.
We've won 3 out of the last 4 games now, and we're starting to move up the league. 5 of our last 6 games are at home, and the majority are against teams below us so we're hoping to finish as strongly as possible.

Eyemouth 0 Tweedmouth 5
few interesting decisions yesterday but not going to run my mouth off and blame anyone but apparently penalties are now given for a foul outside the box, we were 3-0 down at half time, went to 3 at the back got beat 5-0 could of been more... we created very few chances, gave away a few sloppy goals but not to take it away from Tweedmouth, they played good footie at times and are a good fit team who never seemed to stop. Thats our first defeat at home in the league this year which makes it worse and it was a shagging. All the best to the Tweedmouth team, good bunch of lads

Apparently Eyemouth are currently in the process of getting bullets sent to the referee is that true?

i heard from a neutral spectator that the foul was in the box and eyemouth keeper should've been sent off for the abuse he gave the ref following the decision to give penalty

Fair point. A few of the Eyemouth lads surrounded the ref and did come out with a fair bit of abuse. However, I can't agree that the foul was inside the box. It was at least a yard outside. The ref wasn't in the best of positions to give it either.

A hear you have a new fitness coach and motivator, as in Stevie Roughheed (ex Berwick R res, and Spittal Rov)?
Good addition to the backroom staff.
Keep Clarky in on a Friday night as well

Yeah we do. Stevie's been back a few weeks. He has plenty of experience to pass on.
Haha Clarky keeps himself in, he dishes out the fines for Friday nights out.

Not gonna go through every point that has been made again, but for me, the only major call that was the wrong one was that the penalty was given, which was outside the box. The keeper was last man though and could easily have walked.
To be honest though, the Eyemouth boys didnt help themselves by getting at him. He gave every 50/50 to us after that because Tweedmouth didnt contest anything. For me, it was easily Tweedmouths best performance this season and we bossed the game from start to finish, going some way to redeem ourselves after the dismal reverse fixture display. He didnt have a massive bearing on the game.
Eyemouth are a lot better than this effort though, they will still be up there at the end of the season and I really hope they go up. Cant believe they didnt start with the big lad that came on, hes a real handful.
Chuffed to bits for Pedro, top quality strike
