It was a propsect of a 3rd round tie in the south, but tweeddale got a wee bit too excited against Lochar!
Hopefully they do get promoted this year, would be good for peeblesshire - especially if Linton Hotspur came up with them!

Agreed! I do think the boy Nicky from Tweedmouth is a decent player! But as for the Tweeddale ones mentioned, I think only Blair Moffat would be able to command a place in the top border sides and possibly the ginger lad!
As for the rest that were mentioned from the 'b' division, I think someone is on the wind-up!

A Rovers win
Anyway, a wee bit o friendly local rivalry is healthy but am sure it does nobody any good to have their name tarnished on here so don't think there's any need for the whole "he wouldn't get in our team" or "he couldn't cut it in the A" shite. I can think of a number of lads at Selkirk Vics who could be playing at a higher level (hopefully they will be in a couple of seasons). 5 or 6 have played EOS Premier football but - through injury, lack of Selkirk input ie.management, new players etc they have gone to play with their mates and to enjoy football which they clearly are just now.
In reply to the topic, I'd say McMath (his goalscoring record speaks for itself) and Brydon (top player at EOS level) have to be the stand out players.

Totally agree with that one. Not sure if that's down to ability. More likely the rivalry between the clubs or maybe Leithen having a bit of an elitist attitude. In fairness they are maybe entitled to that having been at the top end of Border Am for the past few years.
Don't think it's the clubs themselves that are "bumping their gums". More outside influences speculating on here. Tweeddale do have some good players but it is difficult to say whether or not they would cut it at a higher level. If Tweeddale get promoted then we will no doubt find out. Don't think the players themselves would like being talked about on here too much either. They probably aren't too bothered whether or not people think they can step up at the moment - just wanting to enjoy playing and hopefully get promoted to prove themselves.

I did not at any point state that they would want any players because, as I have already stated, they currently have a very strong team. My point was simply, as I'm sure I have also already stated, that these players could go on to play at the top end of the A Division. I only used Leithen Rovers as an example.
Oh, and for the second time, I DO NOT play for Tweeddale, nor do I have any affiliation to the club.

So your blonde winger is better than Rogers and Borthwick is better than Moffat? I don't think so. As for the others, I think they could hold their own in the top half. The idea of the thread is just to get your opinion across afterall...

As for the tweeddale players mentioned in previous posts, they could all hold their own in the A division

No I don't, I play for Heriot Watt University!

Correct, I did and he does. I currently don't play for them and hold no position at the club. Think I may have watched 1 of their games this season when mines was off. I currently have nothing to do with them. My name was made when I played for them and havent bothered changing it.
People were claiming that I was "going to get a shock" if Tweeddale go up, which I will not as I have nothing to do with them, and that I should stop "bumping my gums about how good I am", which I was not. I was giving my opinion on other players.

So that is an affiliation, is it not?
For the record, I dont disagree with what you were saying earlier in the thread. I think there are players in the Tweeddale team that will hold their own if they get promoted. Out of the names you mentioned id say Simon, Nick and Blair could play at a higher level, whether that be the top end of Div A, or EOS.

This is irrelevant unless Nick Rogers has all of a sudden become a winger! At this moment in time, he wouldn't IMHO dislodge Shortreed or Smith from the centre of the LR Midfield, but as I said in another post, he's a good player who will play at a higher level, if he wants to. Same goes for Blair

Ha, ok I have a past affiliation with the club. That's not really the point though, the point I was making was that I was not "bumping my gums" as I do not currently have anything to do with the club, I may have worded it slightly wrongly though!
Frainy has just turned 18 so definitely has the potential to go on to play at a higher level. Ross played at a higher level for the past 2 seasons.

I've only seen the lad play once, but I've heard others talk about him.

Must be mate if Foxie is coming out with it! Innerleithen is referred to as Interbreeding for some reason, but he must have had to rack his brains to come up with that!
Yes I am mates with some of the players, which manager isnt?! But there is no problem with any 'favourites'. I play my best team. Maybe Foxie would care to expand his thoughts?!

I am pretty sure Rowland Gibb, Derek Scott, Andrew Jackson, Darren Stewart, Greg Shortreed, Chris Borthwick, Ross Forrest and now Callum Hope have no 'family connection to Innerleithen', so your accusation is somewhat flawed!
