LAST 16 - ROUND 7
Ties to be played on 5th March

Campsie Minerva v Mossblown
Dunlop Corinthians/Drumchapel FP/Drumchapel Utd v Lomond Vics/Hurlford/Finnart
Wishaw HSFP v Harestanes
Dalziel HSFP v Bellshill/Windlaw
Carluke Hearts v Gartcosh Utd/Kennoway
Aikenhead Thistle A/Postal Utd v Blantyre Celtic
Inverclyde/Glasgow University v Colville Park/Barnhill/Pollok
Cambria v Kilpatrick/AS Airdrie/Lumphinnians Utd

Couple crackers lined up there... Dunlop potentially facing Drum Utd, who could then potentially face Hurlford! Also With Colville facing a potential tie against Pollok...... Even more of the Big Guns heading out!

Excellent stuff I thinkl it's been a pretty good competition so far some big teams out already some more will join them, could we see a new name on the cup?? to the draw:

Minerva/ Mossblown is a 50-50 for me both play at a good level could go eithe way
ooft one thing for sure is only one of Dunlop the Drum or Hurlford will get through that lot which is good news for others.
anothe good one, did Wishaw not put harestanes out last year or the year before?
Have to fancy Dalziel to make the last 8 here
Likewise i think Kennoway have the quality to get through here
Great Chance for Dougie's team here though I know Postal are a good outfit so will be tough and Blantyre done well to get here cant be dismissed a close one
Straight up between colville Park and Pollock imo
Pass- we have a tough game up in fife without looking ahead to any potential other games

I'll stick my neck out and predict a last 8, well 7 anyway

Campsie Minerva
Drumcahpel utd
Harestanes
Dalziel
kennoway
Aitkenhead
Pollock
No Commment :D

lol - thats a same 7 predicted on the other forum Neilly... Barring your own tie tho. I have to admit - excluding predicting my own tie I agree with the other 6. Have to say tho neilly, I do fancy Kilpatrick from your tie - although I would be delighted to see you boys in the last 8!

I see nobody fancies WHSFPs then. Yes we did put Harestanes out the Scottish 2 seasons ago on the astro at Merkland in the early rounds. Should be a good game and hopefully we can do ourselves justice again. Harestanes will rightly be favourites for the tie as everyone has observed and we like the whole underdog stigma anyway. When everyone expects you to get beat, it can sometimes bring out the best in you so here's hoping.

We gave them a good game in the 4th round mate away at Merkland and were beaten 4-2. They were undoubtedly the better team, but had we taken our chances at key times in the game it would have been a different result. Definitely beatable, and we are a 3rd division Edinburgh side with an average age of 24. Not outstanding at the back but their 3 strikers are formidable and their midfield is pretty good too. Had it been on our 3G it might have been closer but no sour grapes. Good team

G.A.H.,Tollcross are the only team to score against Harestanes,in the Scottish this seaon. On the day,you were told, that it was a below par performance from Harestanes.Had it indeed been on your 3G,the score may have different,as Harestanes played Edinburgh south vics,on your park,2 weeks ago,and didn't concede a goal ! .They were outstanding at the back,AGAIN.

Haha I didn't realise we were the only team to score against them. Yeah I agree that they weren't at their best but they also have to realise that we were far from our best aswell. I think it was a case of two similar playing styles cancelling each other out. Yeah I went and watched the ESV Harestanes game. Harestanes turned it on in the 2nd half but were a bit sloppy in the 1st. Personally I'd have thought that they would be even better on 3G. They were only outstanding at the back because ESV didn't really offer much up top to be honest mate

Well, we are very different mate. Not many teams can boast an average age of 24 in amatuer footy and have Arsenal strips Posted Image

On the contrary green at heart, when Harestanes started out in 1981,they only had 2 player's,over the age of 21.The rest were ex school mates, who were all 18 or 19 year's old.Take a guess at what the away strip was,yes a second hand arsenal strip, bought for the princely sum of £50,from woodilee ams!

alas our Journey is over lost 3-1 in the end, one nil up at half time we conceded right away in the 2nd, they got a real break with a handball just before there second and a very soft penalty gave them breathing space, we hit the bar and post and had one cleared off the line but was a case of not being our day, back to 10am kick offs and the joy of watching Airdrie get humped every other week!!!!!
