Semis will be played on 26th march and 9th April. Final on 15th march.

Of course you guys have a big advantage once the semis and final come along its just like a home tie ;) .

The last time you won the south you had a decent team but it is a massive help to you.......

Before you get on your high horse i know the unionist club sponser the competition. One thing is for sure Leithen Rovers wont be playing their semi at Saughton Enclosure like one of last years.

Seems to me that Mr Cox makes rules up as he likes. Last season Linton had asked league for a free week as they were going to Liverpool or something like that and were told they would be scratched from the cup if they did not appear that weekend. Low and behold this weekend Maxwelltown had asked for a free week and Mr Cox says this is ok . Double standards.

I think u will find east lintons free week was also honoured, so let's not get on ur high horse mate! No conspiracy against gala or linton for that matter!
I'm sure the reason for playing it at saughton was because the vale park was not available.

Sorry B division wot you on about. You should get yer turbo and stick it right up yer arse and keep going as far as it takes you. :D :D

What trash did i say like. Look into SAFA rules you will find you CANT ask for day off in Scottish Am or South cup. I ts common knowledge except to numpties like you :D :D

I am not slating anyone except Mr Cox. Only making a point about W Linton in last seasons comp and Gala in this years dont know nothing about E Linton as KK has pointed out.

Think the only way to change a tie is to play it before the agreed date (but both clubs have to agree, otherwise its the date specified).
Look at the cup link, you'll see in the 1st rd Hawick Waverley and Ancrum played a week before everyone else.

Pretty sure West Linton were told to play on the Friday night at Saughton or else kinda thing.

To be fair mate, you said that the last time Leithen Rovers won the south, they had a "decent" team, well in my humble opinion to win 3 out of 5 trophies you have to be considerably better then decent, so id consider that part trash!

Obviously the way the South Cup is drawn, Any of the favourite teams who are in the top half of the draw are likely to receive home ties. The fact that the Semi's and the Final are played at the Vale Park is nothing to do with Leithen Rovers. Perhaps it is an advantage, only time will tell, but looking back at the last South Cup semi final against Langholm, it certainly wasnt an advantage that day as we struggled to overcome them!

If you ask me this just another case of someone trying to have a pop at a successful club. We have seen it in recent times with Duns, and a couple of years ago with Chirnside. Tell me, if it was the Waddell Cup Final and Greenlaw were in it, would you be making the same noises? Doubt it.

My appologies i did not mean decent as ordinary. They were and still are a very good team been top level of A div for some years now.

Certainly not having a pop at you or anyone else just putting mt oppinion accross.

You never mentioned your oppinion about the free weeks or the correct ruling

Waiting in anticipation............................. ..........................

Over the past 5 or 6 seasons which clubs are regarded as top border amateur sides? Is there a top 4 who are regularly in the mix for trophies or is success fairly widespread?

In my opinion mate Leithen Rovers, Chirnside and Pencaitland have dominated Border Am over the last 5 seasons easily. Although other teams have won the odd cup.

Won 13 of the 20 trophies available in that period, including all league titles.

Apology accepted, Was by far the best amateur team I have had the privilege of being part of.

I cant say I know enough about the free weeks situation or correct ruling to comment.

Going back to your double standards quote, last season we, Leithen Rovers, were due to play Carluke Hearts and our pitch was frozen solid. The following week we had asked for a free week and were told that our free week would not be honoured and therefore had to play the game on the vale park, although not as hard as ours! However, it did not benefit us in away shape or form as we got humped 5-1, mainly due to me right enough!

Sometimes you just have to take it on the chin and get on with it, it is not as if gala rovers have lost out or anything is it!!

Maybe the ruling does need clarification, but one thing I will say is that Mr Cox is very switched on and does not roll over easily!
