The back and forward page reordering thing?

I'm fairly sure it relates to some sort of interaction between the browser and the site. It doesn't happen with other websites. It will be the latest version of IE in all cases. Seems to be IE 8 on this machine but I'm pretty sure it was doing it under IE7 also.

If you meant the go to first unread post on the thread thing then the answer is still the same obviously in terms of which browser.

Hi mate, no I meant the version of your browser eg; IE7, IE8, Firefox 3, Chrome etc...

I can't recreate the problem on any browser right enough, and all my machines are running Windows 7 so maybe there is some flaw somewhere that I don't understand.

The "My Content" search is limited to the last year, so any topics that were opened before that time won't show up. Does that sound about right ?

I'm a bit confused by all of this as I personally have never used any of these features so can we go back to basics and clarify exactly what it is you are trying to find out ?

At the moment my understanding is you want to see all topics that you have posted it with links on each to the last unread post on each of those topics, is that correct ?

Basically. On the previous skin or whatever. I would go onto my posts. And they would be laid out starting with the most recent. You could tell, due to the shade of the thread title, if there had been new posts in the thread. Click on it and it goes to your last post.

I always found that the easiest if I've posted on a few topics and it saved me jumping from sub-forum to sub-forum.

"I remember all of them, and every single one was a deliberate stab through the heart of Hibernian Football Club. Nothing against the fans but you lot have to understand that when Hibs didn't sign me, I wanted revenge. Some folk laugh at that and say: ‘What, all 27?' I suppose maybe 25 were punishment; the other two I banged in just for the hell of it."

This. I want the old way back aswell! :bairn

At the moment I have absolutely no idea what is going on. Well, I do, but you know what I mean...
It was better when you could just click on "My Posts" and look at each one to see if there had been replies that way. But now I go on it and at the top there is replies to posts from absolutely ages ago eg the (Doncaster spl change thread). The only reason its up there is because it's a very popular topic atm and there are always people posting, so it's always going to be there 24/7.

My signature pic has disppeared in the last couple of days and is now showing in my posts as a text link rather than the actual picture. Is there a new law regarding signature pics now or is there another reason that this has happened?

You just had some incorrect code in your signature, for some reason you had [MEDIA] tags around the image, no need for them.

I have taken them out and your sig is now appearing normally (to me anyway ?!)

Quick question - can you still search within a topic? If so how do you do this?

Thanks.

Cheers! Although I've no idea how that happened with the media tags as I hadn't altered it. Div'll fix it for you! :thumsup2

The ordering issue of the "My Content" appears to be a known bug with the software. I will report it too and see if we can get a fix.

If you go into My Profile, you can click on the "Posts" tab on the right to get the old view. The problem is that it's limited to your last five and there's no way to get to the rest. But at least it sort of works for the time being.

I'm only getting it on IE whilst running on XP.

Firefox on XP runs ok.

Like I said, it's been happening off and on seemingly randomly for me since the previous upgrade which must be something like a year ago now.

It's mildly irritating. I don't find it anywhere near as annoying as the other one that appeared at the same time, namely that for no apparent reason the site sometimes reorganises the order of the pages visited if you click forward and back on the browser so you end up with the first page on the list being some thread you were in and the main menu is further forward (or, if you've since gone elsewhere, missing altogether. That's been annoying the shit out of me for a year now.

Further to this, in the last day or two I've noted that after accessing a thread, pressing the "back" arrow to go back to the Menu often finds some sort of Facebook login address page has somehow inserted itself there instead and the "back" command achieves nothing. You have press it a second time to get back to the menu.

Why is this happening? Not that it's a major crisis to have to press "back" twice instead of once but it is a glitch of some sort presumably.

As usual with your problems SD I cannot recreate this

What browser, operating system etc are you using and have you linked your account with a facebook login at all ?

I've never used or been on Facebook in my life so, no, I haven't.

It's windows XP and IE8.

I wouldn;t lose a lot of sleep over it (I'm sure you weren't). As I say it's not exactly a hardship to have to press Back twice instead of once it just seems odd that it does it. It only does it occasionally. It's not like every time you access a thread so I'm not remotely surprised you can't recreate it. It's the old finding an intermitent fault when you take your car to the garage thing in reality. It never does it when the mechanic is present!

Rather annoyingly this is happening on my new works laptop as well (taken to the top of the relevant page rather than to the newest post)

so it does happen on Windows 7
