Just a quick question really, does anyone play?

I used to play about 8/9 years ago in the local activity centre and we played against teams from Fife, Glasgow, Dundee etc. As far as I am aware it has died of death, however, me and a few mates are looking to book the activity centre again and have a scrimmage once a week. We have all looked out old equipment etc and plan to get started in the next month or so (probably after Xmas).

Early days I know but if there are any like minded souls across the country then I would like to get intouch with them.

Perhaps friendly matches, if the response to this thread is good we could have regular games. Just an idea for now.

Also if you live in the Ayrshire area and fancy getting involved PM me and I'll fill you in with details/developments etc.

Yes, I used to play for Dundee back in the day. I don't remember every playing against any Ayrshire teams but we used to Play Fife on a regular basis. Come to think about It, I really do miss a bit of Inline Roller.

I was very interested to see that you still kept your old gear, I used to have a homemade ganrt stick(google it) that really was the buisiness. While I wasn't so quick across the ground I had a shot like rocket.

Keep me informed with the plans.

I've thought about it, but roller hockey on the internet doesn't seem as much fun as the real thing.

Nearly a year down the line since I last posted.

We've now got a team playing out of the Magnum Centre in Irvine. We had a bit of trouble getting a hall, with complaints about the skates marking the floor etc.

Contacted the Scottish League and we've entered a team from Ayrshire in it for the new season.

We have a squad of about 17 lads, but are always looking for more players. If interested, PM me.

Convoy Driver, Dundee are still very much part of the league set up and are current Scottish Champions. They have some decent players and a few of their squad is involved in running the league (secretary, chairman etc).
