That'll be be that then ;)

The first team will be a different challenge to the BB's, but I sure they'll rise to it and do us proud. I can see it being a 1 goal in it, type of game, rather than your goalfest. So 1-0, or 2-1 either way.

^^This

Good news for Brechin is the return of Jamie Redman after injuries and operations although not sure who he would replace in midfield.

Possible line up for City

Nelson

MacLean MacLaughlin Moyes Booth

Redman or Byers Jancyzk Smith King

We had the Scotland squad playing under our name as a warm up for the mighty Leichtenstein !

Brechin to win 1-0 with a goal that DIDN'T cross the line. That would be funny.

Not as impressive as you may think, our U19's have already been scudded by double figures already this season and have now conceded 29 goals in 4 games. To be fair the team were cobbled together at the last minute as we didn't have a youth system in place before.

More or less agree with the line-up suggested by Pap. The back four picks itself at the moment really (probably younger than Airdrie's rearguard with an average age of 20!). Barry Smith will likely be the anchorman in midfield. Not sure if Janczyk merits a start as he has been out of sorts in recent games but think we may see the best of him on the plastic pitch.

I think it's going to be a tough one. Many people predicted Airdrie to be cannon fodder this season but the young lads have stepped up to the plate and done well so far. I do think, however, that if they don't bring in any experience then they will begin to struggle in the winter months when the fixtures start to build up. A draw or a one goal swing either way on Saturday.
Oooooh Garry Brady....

Without Lovering ours would be closer to 19. With Lovering it's 50 ;)

Aye, I'll go for a draw. Can't make the game due a wedding and for the first time in years I'm gutted at missing the game.

A close one but as we have a better team that last years failures I'll go 2-1 the Diamonds. It'll be interesting to see if Jimmy decides to play young Watt from the start after his work experience at Liverpool.

MacLaughlin could well be missing from Saturdays match. Going by the Courier today he's been playing with a groin injury which has started to hernia. He'll be a big miss, but Smith should slot in the back line with Byers / Redman playing with the possibilty of Malloy fitting in midfield since Fusco is only really getting over his injuries.

Re read the article, although he is injured he will still play on until the next international break when he is hopefully going to get an appointment to see a specialist so it minimises the amount of games he will miss. ;)

Cringe, I knew someone was going to mention the under 19's game.
That will have ABSOLUTELY NO bearing on this game what so ever, seeing as Brechin I dont think have 1 of they boys in their first team, and out of the ones that started for Airdrie, I wouldn't class any of them as being in the starting 11 this saturday, so really, if confidence among the first team is high . . . . it'll have f**k all to do wi that game and more to do with the stenny game 2 weeks ago.

I can see us being beaten in this game to be fair, one things for sure though, they lads will be fighting till the final whistle.

Prediction : Airdrie 2 - 3 Brechin

I was going to post about how i think Brechin will just edge a win but i've decided to be optimistic about Saturday we've just came off a 3-1 victory over Stenhousemuir away from home and i reckon the home advantage will count.

I'll stick my neck out for the chop and say ... 2-0 Airdrie : Ryan McCord scoring in the first half and Gemmill scoring in the 2nd.

For me it all depends how on form Rory Mcalister is. If he is having an off day i can see us sneaking a win by a goal but he could put the young ones to the test on saturday always a danger in and around the penalty area.
I always try to pressure the player for as long as he begins to think. As soon as the attacking player must think, I have got him! - Peter Schmeichel

Off to see my other team Leeds take on Swansea this weekend Posted Image Therefore going to miss my first game so far this season and the visit of Brechin. Shame Posted Image

Difficult to predict results, but I'm sure Brechin will definately see a very different game than the one they seen in the play offs....

We kind of did, but they're all at Dundee Utd and Arbroath now :(

EDIT
