I think it would be a good idea for some board members to be there to show support.

- All questions are to be emailed in beforehand - It's not difficult to imagine pertinent questions being rejected, whether by Chapman or whoever.
- It's being conducted at twelve noon on the day of a very big match for us. How can this be good timing for a guy who is not only mental but under a lot of pressure?

That's not particularly unusual or unexpected. As you correctly point out, we have a match that day and the manager will need time to prepare the team properly. Also, he won't (understandably) want to get a bunch of angry punters shouting questions of all manner at him from the floor and not be in a position to provide a well thought out and pertinent answer.

It is not like he can stand there and say everything is fine, is it?
I say well done to Jim for taking this on at this stage in the season - it demonstrates responsibility and accountability and an acknowledgement that it is not us against them (or him) but that we are all in this together.

Agree 100%. I have much respect for Chapman for agreeing to do this and it shows he's not afraid to face his critics. There won't be any rammy as some are predicting, people are far more sensible than that. If, as expected, things are moderated, it should be a good session for everyone and a chance for some understanding on all sides. As a Bankie, I'm coming along!

the questions being mailed in was the Supporters Trust's idea, not a club or management one; there is only a limited amount of time & lots of issues to cover, the last thing we want is to get bogged down in too many similar questions or too much detail. In the past meet the manager sessions have tended to get stuck on "why did X leave" "why did Y leave" "why don't you play Z in A position" by asking people to pre send questions in we'll beable to select the questions that cover what everyone wants to ask in a more efficient way, the questions aren't being given to Jim ahead of time, There will be time for questions that come to anyone as they're sitting there too. It's a great opportunity to ask questions we've all been wondering about for a while & would be brilliant to have a big turnout for it

Very good Gaz but why keep the questions from Jim in advance? It's not as if we are trying to ambush him or catch him out. It isn't a test to see how well he can think on his feet.
I would far rather have the questions shared with him in advance so we could have considered, informed replies rather than umms, errs and "I will look into it" and "I will get back to you on that" or "I will have to speak with x" type answers.

Do you think the time when you were a paperboy for "auld Nelly Stitson", set you up to be the Manager you have become??

Ironically if Black had walked when first shown the door that might have been the case. But by delaying the inevitably he may have avoided us jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. Jimmy Boyle must stay!!!!

I think what most people are looking for are honest, open answers to questions & would feel that if the questions were given to him before hand it would mean there would be a lot of time to pre-prepare an answer ... pretty much the opposite of what you think

Questions were asked; questions were answered. Jim explained some of his thoughts on the team, tactics, etc. Was also discussion on the route the club were going down in this respect and the work that goes on (information I personally wasn't previously aware of)
No fire-breathing from Jim and no mental aberrations, which I am sure will disappoint some.
I found it very worthwhile and was impressed that Jim did this after the start we had to the season.

He answer all the questions thrown at him, with all his answers seaming genuine. I was very impressed with his ideas with the youth structure and hope he gets the time to do it.
With the boy Ian I think its a classic case of he can dish it out but can't take it as shown yesterday. As he got a slight amount back from Chappy and the boys throwing his hands in the air with tears running down his face making out he's the victim. sorry son get a grip, don't give it if you can't take it.
