Fixtures? when are they announced?!

They should be out fairly soon. The 1st games are on the 21st August with a midweek to follow I believe.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

The constitution actually allows for a start on the 2nd Saturday in August. Better to get some games in while the weather is (reasonably) good. Personally I think all the leagues, EoS, BAFA, etc, should start at the same time.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

Yes, start about the 14th Aug, and get 4 league games in, 2 Sats' 2 Tues' and your off and running, seemples.
Also the midweeks can be made very local.
No one struggles for players at this time of season, everyone is keen.

It might have helped if you'd mentioned which league you were talking about in your question. This isn't the Border Amateur Forum, it's for the whole of the Scottish amateur football scene.
