I can't believe how little mention there's been of this. I take it from this that the game is neither as good as it should've been nor is it a massive letdown? Was intending to buy this at some point. Anyone actually got it here?

I've got it but haven't played it yet. Will get a fair bit into it tomorrow.

From what i understand with the heavy marketing and hype, and of course how long this game took to make, they were hoping for reviews maybe in the 95% category, basically universal praise. I understand the game has an average rating of 82% good, but not great, and certainly off what they expected. To be honest the game didnt interest me that much, and with it and red dead coming out a week between each other theres only one choice for me since red dead has gotten universal acclaim and is allready being called game of the year(personally i think this year its gonna be red dead or new vegas personally)
I'm gonna throw you in my DeLorean and gun it to 88.

Think this game has been in the making since the 16 bit era its taken them that bloody long to make it. Think its has fallen behind the times a bit with the advancement of online multiplayer etc. in the last 3 or 4 years when the game was initially announced.

So... let me get this straight. You want to fly on a magic carpet to see the king of the potato people and you're telling me your completely sane?

I went to rent it today but both copies were out. :(

I was going to get it until they decided to stop making it for PC and make it XBox 360 exclusive.

I'm really looking forward to playing it, but it just happened to come out right before my exams, and whilst I was skint. I will get it eventually though.

Played through the first episode, reminds me of Heavy Rain crossed with Resident Evil. Maybe rent it for a week and see if you like it.

That was absolutely fucking brilliant. The only real complaint is the amount of times you get unnecessarily sidetracked. Hmm, the lift's out of power, I'd better start looking for the back up generat-- oh wait there it is.

It's quality, i've finished it and am looking forward to the DLC. The combat is dodgy at some times but that is the only flaw really, the graphics are stunning, the game is very tense and jumpy. 10/10 hands down.

I've just finished the first two episodes, and whilst it's very atmospheric, playable, and at times, downright scary, it all seems a bit samey and linear. Is it like this all the way through? I'm getting a bit tired of lighting up people, then shooting them. Would be nice to have some more puzzle solving or different methods of combat.

After completing Red Dead Redemption I decided to get battered into this last night and played it for an hour or so.

Really enjoying it so far - very atmospheric. Liking what I see.

I got really into this at first but for some reason I didn't play it for a little while. Anyway I'm back playing it and I love it, I'm on episode 4 right now.

I reckon I must be quite close to the end of Episode 3, been going for ages anyway. I've destroyed the big digger thing, waited for the kidnapper NOT to show up, and now on my way to some 'point' or another. Enjoying it, but I wish there was more variety to the combat. It gets quite tiresome the way you have to get the darkness out of every enemy before you can shoot them.

Episode 3 is really long, you've still got a bit to go.

I'm just about done episode 4 now.

Indeed it is. Best part of the game by a mile.

I absolutely love this game, I'm onto chapter 6 now and I'll probably finish it later on tonight.

I'll get the DLC when it comes out too probably.

What's this game all about then? Heard good things about it, but not really sure what type of game it is etc. Couple of places online selling it for £20, so may take a punt on it.
