I heard you are potentially signing Cowden youth striker John Ferguson, Welsh will know him from Cowden. Strange indeed.

We'll still certainly use a lot of talented young guys that aren't officially in the first team so squad is actually a fair bit bigger than it looks.

Welsh has done a really good job so far at the club as Head of Youth. Under 19s League retained, Semi Femi of the SFA Under 19s Youth Cup and Final of the SFL Under 19s Youth Cup. He said he'd be looking for more talented youngsters to bolster a lot of the teams that were neglected under Massone's reign at the club.

Some very good players in there, this season is going to be one tough b*****d.
Little brown boy, the other side of the world....
He was born on a line many thousand year long, many more thousand to be
They survived on tradition, not wealth and position
Sounds pretty simple to me....

That's his level. Never, ever good enough to manage a 'First Team' squad. I'd be worried if Bollan gets off to a shaky start and gets the bullet, or does extremely well and is prised away. Very worried...

But then I'd realise it's Livi and laugh my tits off.

You could go out busking to raise the cash needed for his wages? You are constantly wetting your nappies about the lack of song at our stadium, why not show us how it's done? Posted Image

So how did we manage to raise the money to pay for the wages of Griffin, Hamilton and McKenzie last season? Not to forget all of those players have now been released after playing in the third division. Surely if we could fund a whole squad of players on full-time contracts and release a few of them, we could afford to keep one of the best defenders at the club? Don't forget he was happy to take a slight pay-cut, in order to play for the club.

In your opinion everyting the club does is correct. You refuse to believe the club can sometimes make mistakes, getting rid of Talbot is not a smart move. Instead of irritating everyone and talking shite why not open your eyes and realise this club is usually a complete disaster area.

I didn't follow anyone. Going into administration twice in 5 years says it all surely?

It's not as if Livingston have been remotely attempting to break even, why not push the boat out for just one more player you can't afford?

That's funny, I'd have thought all the players out of contract would have been given 5 year deals if that were the case.

How many five year deals were you handing out under Keane, Flynn, Massone?

I'd have thought a man of your intelligence would have understood a certain technique named hyperbole.

Hyperbole shouldn't be used out of a proper context James, or it only serves to make you appear like a prissy deflector from your continued financial crisis. And we wouldn't want that to be the case again.

Hyperbole serves to emphasise your poor wind-up, my man. Most of the players released are fairly good players who would have been kept on in their high wages if the club wasn't seeking to level the balance of payments to some extent.

I'd estimate that we've lost around £2k a week in wages from these guys leaving.

So the board have set a wage structure and are trying to bring spending down to a decent level and you still make sarcastic remarks, can't win with some folk.

LCC i agree Talbot is a cracking player for us but he's been offered a new deal and hasn't taken it, if we go above it where does it stop, you go on about admin but want the club to spend wages we can't afford, can't have it both ways.
Morton 1-3 Livi / Falkirk 2-5 Livi / Partick th 2-3 Livi / Raith 0-3 Livi / QoS 0-4 Livi

Can we play away from home every week!!!!

From what I have heard, Talbot has been released and the club weren't interested in renewing his contract. Talbot was even happy to take a slight pay-cut. I have heard nothing about him being offered a new contract and turning it down. Even if we kept Talbot, it wouldn't exactly do much harm. I believe that it was a good decision to release Griffin, McKenzie and Hamilton. Although, Talbot is a quality player and by releasing other players on larger wages, I believe we could and should have kept Talbot.

Don't know if they weren't interested in renewing his contract, i just read Talbot was desperate to stay and he would continue to negotiate with the board over a new deal, looks like they couldn't reach an agreement on it.
It's sad to see Talbot go but if the club are sticking to a wage structure then at least it shows they're trying to run the club with a degree of common sense.

That is absolute garbage! He was offered a contract last october but declined to "keep his options open" his choice. He will not accept the pay offer on the table so we simply cannot keep him on, I agree he is a great player but not worth the risk of going bust over (again!!!)

"to some extent". of course. How about "to great extent" and "to break-even"?

Same as above, try breaking even with your new "we won't overspend" policy and you won't get slated.

The plan is to do that in the 1st Division next year, with a bit of luck and hard effort this year. Most of the squad are young guys on £250 or less p.w. which isn't that much in the grand scheme of full-time wages. Guys like Fox, Hamill and Winters (of this board's own doing admittedly) are the only really high earners left.

I think there's a good chance we'll get rid of Hamill in this window as well.
