I have a programme from 1980/81 season for Liverpool v Aston Villa which is autographed by both sets of players.
Is genuine as it came from Jimmy Rimmer(Villa's goalie) through his parents who had become friendly with my parents on holiday.
Villa won the league and Liverpool the European Cup that season.
Am not interested in selling but am just curious how much it would be worth in today's market.

Sorry PCCABE, I managed to miss your post!
We deal in various items of memorabilia and I can safely say that something like this is an enigma in terms of value. Its is £50 to a man one day whilst £150 to another the next.
The key to the programmes is that both teams are "legend" teams given their exploits that season. A collector will pay good money for that programme. The key is if you have any provenance of how genuine the signatures are. If your families are still friendly then getting a letter from the Rimmers would be excellent.
A programme like that should fetch between £50-£100. With good provenance it would reach the higher end of that price range. It would though probably need to be sold at a specialist auction which would be subject to commission.

Thank you for your reply.
As I said it was out of interest only as don't want to sell.
Unfortunately we lost contact with the Rimmer's a number of years ago.
I remember them with great fondness and as an 8 year old boy being wide eyed with amazement as they described games they had attended to watch their son.
I still follow Aston Villa as my English club to this day and love telling the story of how I came to support them.
