Surely the only man on the planet that after 8 views is still unsure why Drogba was sent off? I mean c'mon Andy.

On a separate note, Chelsea seriously got their lot tonight.

Very impressed with Inter Milan this evening. I think Chelsea were very surprised by their offensive approach and bloody hell did it work. Did Chelsea have a chance?

Nothing against the fans but you lot have to understand that when Hibs didn't sign me, I wanted revenge. Some folk laugh at that and say: ‘What, all 27?' I suppose maybe 25 were punishment; the other two I banged in just for the hell of it."

Chelsea never really looked like scoring, they didn't have someone who could cut open a defence that sat back and asked them to break them down. It was always going to be hard, especially after going down to 10 men after 65 mins and then 9 men with Drogba's yearly sending off.

You probably didn't notice. That's when Joe Cole came on. I'm not surprised you didn't notice, so don't beat yourself up about it.

Presume it's a reference to Joe Cole's performance. That or he's drunk.

Inter Milan were superb tonight, Mourinho got it spot on (shock horror!)

Sneijder in particular pulled the strings and this is probably the best I have ever seen him play in a match on the big stage, his passing at times was just an absolute joy to behold.

Maicon and Zanetti deserve a shout out as well, absolutely strolled it. It scares me that Zanetti is 36, he will still be going in 5 years time I reckon.

Off topic but John Collins is f*cking annoying me by referring to Sevilla as "Seville".

This.

I think I said all of this to my Old Man. Zanetti gets older but just doesn't get any worse. If he is left out the Argentina squad it will be a travesty.

Sad as it may be, I do get a special smile on my mug every time I see the king of the neds Terry whining when he gets beat. I think tonights result (and performance from Inter) may finally demonstrated the lie to the Premiership being the land of the top dogs. Inter didn't have an Italian in their side, so they are competing in the same international player market as Chelsea, and dont have an Abramovich to underwrite every excess, yet on the evidence of tonight, (they not only held out, they won the game), and were deserved winners. On clear cut chances, they could well have won by a greater margin too.
Tonight Chelsea came up against a side that matched them in sheer physical strength and presence, and my goodness, when they dont dominate physically, they look nothing special.

Milito bossed the Chelsea centre backs as well at times. He should be a very important weapon for Argentina at the WC but who knows what kind of squad The Mad Wan is going to turn up with in South Africa.

Chelsea were shit, Inter weren't. Sneijders passing was awesome in that second half, if Inter had a decent finisher (other than eto'o) they'd be close to winning the Champions League.

The bbc live reports also said that it was soft for Drogba to go off. I did not see the game so I don't know.

Motta ran into him (deliberately), Motta fell over and Drogba stamped on his leg whilst he was on the ground. Stevie Wonder saw it, Andy Gray didn't.

I'm unsure he'll take Milito. I think Martin Palermo is a probable as is Gonzalo Higuain after originally being out of favour. Supposedly Milito hasn't impressed when playing for the national team.

But if he keeps up performances like that and scoring goals in Serie A he'll give Diego something to think about.

From tonights game I would have liked to have seen Ashley Cole deal with Eto'o on the right and if he would've got forward as much. Chelsea just couldn't counter attack at all tonight.

For a team who needed to score, Chelsea's lack of ideas going forward was really poor. Inter were much better than Chelsea but I wasn't overly impressed, although by no means am I saying Inter were poor. Inter are a good team, as they've shown on numerous occasions this season, so this performance was hardly a shock. They were solid at the back and Drogba was dominated again by Lucio and Samuel, while Eto'o and Milito caused Chelsea's defence problems and Sneijder put some lovely passes through to them.

As usual Mourinho knew exactly what to do tonight, once they got in at half time at 0-0 I felt there was very little chance of Chelsea getting back into it.

And yes, Andy Gray is a waste of space. Drogbas sending off was obvious and he originally tried to claim that the Inter goal was offside!

Hopefully Man Utd, Inter and Barcelona avoid each other in the quarters. (Assuming Barca get past Stuttgart of course)

Souness has been brilliant tonight - he quite clearly hasn't bought into the whole Sky/Mourinho Wankathon, and Keys was clearly rattled that Souey wasn't toeing the party line. Tremendous.

Sneijder was tremendous but MOTM for me, by a ways, was Zanetti. The guy is a long time hero of mine and he was awesome, in both legs.

Watched the game, wasn't that great a game for the neutral but Inter def deserved the victory. Had a wee chuckle at the pre and post match analysis from Souness and the gang. That wee pleb that hosts the show was trying to turn it into the Jose show and Souness just wasn't having it lol. Thought that was quite amusing.
