I'm surprised that he has chosen to enter Augusta cold, and I feel that's a detriment to the torunament, as it could feasibly become the Tiger Show, not the Masters, which is the most magical event in Pro golf. I can't imagine Billy Payne and co are that pleased, but I guess Augusta without Tiger wouldn't be the same, such are the magnitued of his achievments there.

It'll be interesting to see how he does, I won't offer him support, but I admire the player Tiger Woods, not the person, and to see the player Woods go head to head with Els or Mickelson down the stretch at Augusta on Sunday, would be a sight to behold.

I personally can't wait!

Glad to hear he is coming back. I'm not a huge fan if his but like it or not he has defined the standard a champion should be over the last 13 years.

The players have a lot to look forward to aswell with regards his come back. He has a huge knock on effect. This will be the most watched golf tournament of all time which means sponsors will be paying that little bit more to the players.

Read an interesting fact in the USA Today paper. In 1996 the purse for the PGA was just short of $68 million. Tiger won his first major in 1997 and now the purse is just short of $280 million. Naturally the purse would have went up to an extent but not nearly as much without Woods.

He was always going to come back in time for the masters i thought. He'd hate to miss out on any more majors after missing out on a fair chunk of them over the last two years.

As per usual with situations like this, I'll wait for South Park's take on it before I have any judgement.

In all seriousness though, there's gonna be a bit of tension between Tiger and the fans. I can't see him becoming a golf 'baddie' though, as imo, it took some hefty balls to admit the allegations, stand up and tell people about it, and endure all the criticism.

FWIW I think he'll finish around 6th or 7th. Typical Tiger leaderboard charge on the Sunday but falls just short.

If you can't laugh at yourself, what's the point in laughing at anyone else?

Odd choice from Woods, IMO.

As others have said he's coming into competitive golf cold - having not played since the Australian Open in November. He must have reasoning behind picking 'The Masters' as his first tournament back but surely the Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill would've been better from a competitive point of view. He surely can't be 'match fit', if you like. It takes a few rounds of competitive golf to get everything into gear - short game especially.

He must want to make the ultimate statement to the golfing world; I fucked up but look, I've taken 5 months out and I can still beat you all and win the biggest tournament there is.

I don't think he will, though.
