Considering Alloa play on Tuesday dont expect too much 'pre-match talk' for a couple of days.
'Terracing celebrations were suitably extreme. Indeed, the Cowdenbath faithful - all 60-odd of them - kept the rest of us entertained during the not infrequent dull moments. They regaled us with everything from "Cooper's a poof" (difficult to substantiate) to "black and white shite", a suitably assonant summary of the quality of their opponents'

Apart from Brand who is out with a long term injury, I think we have a full squad available (or is Motion still suspended?).

McLuskey in goals and a back 3 of McLeod, Thom and Gibb is a shoe in, as are wingbacks of Thomson and Lyle. I'd go with Bradley and Dalziel up front, with 3 of 4 from Motion, Scullion, I. Thomson, Molloy in midfield.

Let the bitching commence.

Which Alloa players are going to be out? I'd appreciate if we weren't fed the usual lies when 9 players are rated extremely doubtful, and 7 of them miraculously make the starting line up.

Where would gary fit in except left mid because i feel we need to go with bomber and brown in the middle to keep us a tough midfield/

McClune, Townsley, Andy Scott, Gillhaney and Noble are all out. Only basing Townsley being out as he was in the stand last night, were as Buist was out doing a wee bit of running. Buist being back in beside Walker should give us a wee boost. Also, Brown back into midfield will benifit us too. Grants okay for Sat, his ban starts on Stirling game or the game after, not positive.

Will be;

DC

Stevenson Walker Buist McCafferty

Bomber Brown Grant ??

Prunty Gormley

Really no idea about LW. Maybe Hay will get a start, or might go the three I have and Carrol in some sort of combination. God knows.

Well i would keep Mark brown in at cb then put Grant in the middle with Bomber. That would leave Carroll to go right midfield and I cant see Philip starting left win.

Depending on the buist situation mind you

Could go with that i just dont see AM dropping walker or the trialist when he has done relatively ok but brown and walker at CB is an option.

I don't think anyone really knows how bad it is, probably not even the mangement at this stage.

For the game away to Stirling the situation was:

Unavailable because of injury before the game:
Buist
Townsley
Scott

Suspended:
Walker

Unavailable supposedly due to wirk commitments but rumours he has been released for that reason:
Welsh

Taken off injured in the first half:
McLune
Noble
Gilhaney

For Cowden, Walker came back in as did Scott, but Scott was sent off . Prunty was taken off apparently with a niggle but may have been precautionary. Of the others Buist is the only one who seems possibly ready to come back based on the fact he was the only one out who was doing some running on the pitch before the game. Our defensive shortage has been offset by having a trialist centre back available (Main from Bo'ness, decent against Stirling) and signing Tony Stevenson on loan from Hamilton mainly as right back cover to the end of the season.

The players will be generally knackered after the last two games, where the likes of Bomber, John Grant and Mark Brown have had to put in big shifts to get the results we did.

I expect us to line up something like:

Crawford

Stevenson
Main/Buist
Walker
McCafferty

Ferguson
Carroll
Brown
Hay

Gormley
Prunty/Kerr

The main concern for me is Noble being out. We are a totally different team IMO when he plays.

Got 0-0 written all over it.

Certainly nothing to fear from Alloa at full strength and looking at that possible side then I can't see why we can't make it 9 unbeaten.

Our injury and suspension worries have now settled and it will be a case of who is left out of the squad rather than who is available as has been in recent weeks.

I would imagine Jordan Smith will remain out of the squad as we can switch to a back four if one of the defenders gets injured but surely Motion has to come back into the squad? Such an important player even if he is on the bench to bring on if we are chasing the game, one set play can make all the difference. Stirling and Quinn have been really good from the bench in the last couple of games though so I can see Love dropping out of the squad maybe?

McCluskey
Gibb McLeod Thom
Lyle Scullion Thomson Molloy Thomson
Dalziel Diack

Subs: Bennett, Stirling, Quinn, Bradley and Motion.
This is my territory be on your way...

Cant add much to what printer said. Going into Tuesday night we had 7 unavailable (thats including Welsh, nobody seems to know for sure what the situation is there). Prunty went off injured but hopefully that was just a precaution and we have 2 suspensions kicking in for Saturday. That means potentially 10 out but hopefully Prunty and Buist at least will make it. It would be great if Buist was fit again as Brown would then be freed up to move to midfield and cover for the suspended Grant. Another loan signing wouldnt go amiss either.

We always get a tough game from Stenny and Im never too confident going into matches against them. They seem to have come though their injury crisis very well indeed and will be aiming for revenge for a poor performance against us in the previous game. Im sorry Motion is suspended as he was at the same school as me and was an annoying little sh*t. Would have been good to hurl some mindless abuse in his direction :P .

Even allowing for injuries and tiredness we have to be winning our home games. Mon the Wasps....

Surely Big Jo should be back by now i thought he just broke his nose

I would go for Neilly's team, looks good same old formation but its working for us at the minute

i think it will be a close game i would take another draw here 1-1 scorer Diack

f**k knows what will happen here. Alloa best team in the league in my opinion but we're on a decent unbeaten run. Last team to beat us and they'll fancy it again here, and they really need to win. We defend like we know we can and we'll have a chance though. Hand Prunty and the like the chances we did at Ochilview and we'll take a pumping.

Rather than focussing on who is missing for Alloa, maybe we should focus on who is playing. Walker, Bomber, Brown Grant and Prunty have all been key players and all should play on Saturday. If these players put in a shift it should push the others on. Always a tough game from Stenny but the team on the park should still be capable of winning.

This is a vital game, I expect the teams directly below us to win so we really need the 3 points.

Not changed then. Posted Image

Is it not him who has had a couple of naughty challenges against us already this season? Studs on John Grant's chest which didn't look entirely accidental although the ref gave him the benefit of the doubt at the Recs and leaving his foot in against Bomber at Stenny when we won 2-0.

If Alloa play their "anti-football" like the appeared to have done on Tuesday against Cowdenbeath, then Big Scott Gibb will have that all day long.

Looking forward to this game. You'd fancy Alloa to win of course, but we've been solid in the last few games we've played, especially against Peterhead and Dumbarton.

Score draw.

Perhaps we will also again bully the ref into booking half our team and reducing us to 10 men

I like Father Barry's more positive spin on the game although pretty sure Grant starts his 3 game suspension now and wont be available?
