Um no, only financially mismanaged clubs nursing white elephant grounds will need to merge in the next 20 years. So that's Thistle and Clyde taken care of, while the rest of us well-run clubs carry on as we were. :)

In the Second Division in a dump of a ground held together with Love Street cast offs? :P
Lennon must go!

There are a sickening amount of allegations being levelled against the Arch on this thread. I would make the case for his defence by pointing out that he is guilty of nothing more than the odd bout of sour grapes.

And that my friend is not a crime. :)
Look at you. You're a slippery genius!

He aint real Thistle. Take a closer look at that smarmy mugshot, whether it's actually him or not. Are ye blind? And she thinks she's gittin' away wae it.

Whit's his connection wae Firhill? Ballboy? U16s? Or just a shallow alternative to the bigot brothers?

No wonder the pubs around Firhill just aint the same nowadays.

The campaign to weed out the smug fakes from The Shed continues unabated. Just trying to ascertain whether you fall into the same bracket as The Arch.

Most pubs around Firhill are the same as always. Complete dives you would avoid at any other time than matchday.

The Woodside however is a great wee place all year round. ;)

Agreed. Civilised pub and good service. Same as Station Bar.

Yep- my only gripe is the tendency for the Belhaven Best to go off about 5pm on a Saturday and the barrel to get changed.
Even men with steel hearts love to see a dog on the pitch.

Now you're scrapin' the bottom of the barrel there, shunny boay.

Talking about cellars, the staff are not backward about going forward, either. Last time I was in b4 a game, I got talking to one of them about the good weather. Incisive stuff. Then she suggested I leave my coat and she'd keep it down in the cellar for me to collect when I came back afterwards. Even although I didn't say I was coming back. Even although she was obviously finished at 6 and lived nearby. Ahem.

Has the new management flushed out the mix of cops, journalists, Thistle fans and British Rail staff? It was/is a good traditional Glasgow pub.

Posted Image I usually - and accidentally - sit about three or four rows away from the Moaning Section up towards the halfway line in the JH. The last couple of seasons the spectacle of a 60something female bawling 'Donnelly/Twaddle, you're sh*te' until she goes purple is a source of endless amusement.

When I was a kid is used to sit at the wee wall down at the city end of the shed, that or run about the place while the boys were stuck in the usual midfield mire.

Now, Hugh Sproat swinging on a goalpost, there's a sight you don't easily forget.

Who the frig am I to pass judgement but it sounds like u pass the non-fake test?

I know I'm asking for trouble but still determined to weed them out ... whether they're on here or not. They're keeping real Thistle fans away. Their reaction will identify them automatically.

Fancy a witch hunt?
