Lets have a background look on this Ellis boy.
He bought over, and lasted just a few days, Northampton Town. Made loads of promises, and was gone very sharpish.
Part of a consortium who bought over QPR, and then proceeded to try and make a fast buck by moving the stadium from the city centre, to just next to Heathrow, fans didn't allow it and he moved on.
That wories me straight away, but it's believed that any consortium that he is part of, is backed by the money of Lakshmi Mittal. Many rumours are circulating re-this consortium, but it is believed that Ellis is just the front figure for this consortium, and the man with the money is none other than Lakshmi Mittal, it's believed he is in talks with David Murray about purchasing MIH, and buying over Rangers FC would be seen as a "sweetner" which is horrifying to think.
This though can all only be considered speculation until more is known, and until then I'll reserve my judgement, but I hope the above isn't proven true.

Ellis wont be the foreman of this consortium he's always just the face used, I hope for our sakes the man I mentioned isn't in charge as if what I said is true we'd just be something bought with his spare change as a "sweetner" and that thought really is terrifying.

Why would Mittal want MIH?

That's the big worry for Rangers fans.
You've got to question why anybody wants to buy a Scottish football club....even as big as Rangers are. When clubs in the richest league in the world are struggling financially then what is the attraction for a non-Rangers supporting guy like Ellis?
His track record at two smaller clubs should also be a worry. He seems to be an egomaniac that thinks he can do well with a football club, but who turns everything into a disaster. That is the last thing that Rangers need right now given their troubles off the park.

This guy is one of the top 5 richest men in the world, he knows a thing or two about business.
This is why what you say is most probably complete bollocks. Steel and property? Christ even I know that that isn't a sound investment.
If anything, Rangers are the best thing Murray has going, if run properly. Football clubs are advantaged over other businesses because of fan loyalty/gullibility. That means the product can be shit but people will still pay up. Of course, with the Rangers fanbase being made up of many gloryhunters this might not be the case.
Smartest business move is to go back to promoting bigotry, get the Catholics out. If this is done, there will easily be at least 30,000 hate filled morons from the west of Scotland and northern Ireland who will blindly follow (follow) rangers regardless of how many cost cutting measures they begin to implement.

How much land (not the stadium) do Rangers own? Could he be interested in that part to develop?

Because we're going to be in a recession for ever and ever aren't we?
The guy as you said is minted, I'm sure he could hold a loss for a period of time (as the markets seem to be recovering now).
The market was an absolute gold mine before this "crash".
I reckon once this "crash" is over, it'll be worth a fortune again.
