What about this coverage then?

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=lqmcl1jEZcA

This is not the ShireTV footage.

Cant argue with it and yeah id agree it looks like he went down easily..... But there is no way they can ban Robbie for this, It is one angle from 40 yards away and its far from conclusive. Not beating about the bush my opinion is he went down before contact but its only a opinion as is Gordons Smith. Get it a close up shot, a clear angle that proves he dived then yeah throw the book at him. But reality is this is third division, thats not sky sports coverage and if he does eventually get punished for this Livi should accept it.......BUT this cant be a 1 off, Every amatuer footage that gets provided has to be looked at in the same way and the exact same punishment handed out. This will never happen and there will always be a incident missed and for that this should never of got to the stage we are at.

I'm aware of that. I somehow doubt Gordon Smith is going through all of this effort to award Winters a yellow card though.

Anyone who tries to defend Winters is a fucking moron.

That is a blatant dive.

Winters' left leg goes past the defenders' right (not going to try and spell his name) and is planted on the ground. He then lifts it off and rolls on the ground.

I'd say that at best that footage is inconclusive. What it does show however is that the referee has a clear view of it which is one reason I am at a loss to understand why it has merited an investigation.

At best it's inconclusive????.......you're having a laugh. Blatant dive. As a neutral observer, I reckon that's as bad as you'll get. Then again, it happens every week. I'd like the PFA and the SPFA to come out and make a statement on this. Don't hold your breath.

Yeah blatant dive. Football fans really shouldn't take the moral high ground on this, every team does it and every team will do it till the end of time.

Deal with it at the time or not at all.
Will Shire fans feel good if the SFA do anything? Not really. It won't change the result, it won't change the fact that we went into a tailspin after this match, it won't change the sending off, it won't stop players diving in the future, it won't make any difference.

Correct, you have players like Boyd, Lafferty, McGeady going down for feck all every week in the SPL with nothing being done, that's where you have to make a start and then it'll filter down to the lower leagues, get into the OF to make an example if Smiths really got the balls to try and stamp it out, not as if he has to look hard for evidence either.

Funnily enough there is no discussion of this footage on Livilions. Their heads are still stuck firmly in the sand (or up McDougall's arse)

Who said anything about men's arses ? I was talking about Mrs McDougall

How does it feel to be on the "Trust" board then ? Will you be going after the fan on the board position in a couple of years ? ;)

The subject was discussed when it first came out, see no point in keeping it going on LL just to satisfy your fixation for enjoying all things against Livi.

In that footage it looks a soft foul, but with no other angles and close ups i don't think it's fair to judge Winters and make decision on whether or not to punish him, as has been said, it's a common occurance every week in the SPL and seems ridiculous how this one game in a 3rd Div match has ben blown up and highlighted the way it has.

Incidents happpen in every single game that fans aren't happy about, i watch EPL games where things happen that costs teams point because the wrong decision is given/or not given, one of my pet hates is players wrapping their arms around another player and wrestling him to the ground at every corner, about time refs did something about that too, and these games are well covered where cameras are all over the place where it's easy to make a 100% correct decision on incidents, yet sometimes you need to look at them 5 or 6 times from all different angles to be sure.

Wonder why Livi TV didnt show us THAT FOOTAGE then if it was just a soft foul. Maybe it was because it show's their own player cheating on their own footage?

Bullshit. It is a dive, and not a very good one at that.

Two reasons as has been explained repeatedly. 1) It's not a highlight for us when we've had other chances in the game. It's a foul at the end of the day. 2) You aren't meant to show contentious moments such as refereeing decisions.

This is the typical kind of shite you would see Livi come away with. Bunch of total cocks.

If i wasn't a Livi fan and seeing that footage i'd prob agree with you, but as a Livi fan i'm willing to give RW the benefit of the doubt, and a soft foul is as far as i'm going to go on it. Posted Image

Honestly would have to see it from different angles and zoomed in etc to be 100% certain on it though, and for Smith to involve himself without such footage and ignore games where there is the technology available to prove diving in SPL games is a joke.

It wasn't that big a deal for us at the time, since then though it's been blown up out of proportion, are you saying an ES player has never went down easily or handballed in the box and got away with it, would he be branded a cheat by all your fans weeks after it happened, would he f**k!!

I think the fact Bolo was sent off has been the main reason your fans are pissed off about it, but quite frankly he was a red card waiting to happen in the game, if he didn't walk when he did i'm convinced it was only a matter of time, he was actually lucky not to get another red the way he was barging about, pushed the ref away too and got away with it.

Winters is prob our PoTY , over the whole season he's been immense for us, certainly hasn't been a player who's cheated and dived his way through games.

From the SFA this afternoon :-

Robbie Winters (Livingston FC)
The Committee considered an alleged act of simulation involving Robbie
Winters in the East Stirlingshire v Livingston match on 20 February
2010. The case was dismissed.

Robbie Winters in The Sun

It's a bit embarrassing reading Robbie's comments there. I think he should just have breathed a sigh of relief and let it go rather than making comments that are clearly not true.

Agreed, just made himself look a complete arse with that interview, "it was a bad tackle from the boy" is his quote now yet if you watch his interview on Shire Tv after the game his comment then was "i felt a touch from behind me", He also comments that any one could see the boy put his leg out.......... think if you watch it again Robbie you will see that Bolo stopped and you were going over before you arrived at his leg. The part about the reaction from the Shire players as well is a laugh in Winters interview, watch Andy Rodgers reaction before the ref even blows his whistle Andy is pointing at Winters diving! And coming from Andy Rodgers thats something :angel

Only reason he got away with it was the SFA dont have the balls to see it through and they were breaking their own rules by even looking at it in the first place.

He made the point about Rodgers being miles away and the other Shire players closer (apart from the challenger) not saying anything, which I think is fair enough. They and the referee had a better view than all of us from highlights from a crappy angle.

He's got a touch and gone down like most strikers do. Bad challenge, no. Stupid challenge, most definetely.
