Apologies if this should be in the cup forum (frankly f**k you if you think it should) - but what would we think of a Raith Rovers v Ross County Scottish Cup semi final?

VikingTon would obviously be furious, but should we be proud of our teams if one makes the final?

Personally I wanted Raith to get pumped out early, as I didn't want them to get a financial boost for the relegation dog-fight (aye, they're fine). Frankly both sides are making a great effort.

Raith and County fans are free to comment without suggesting it would be a good thing...

Frankly, I think we'd have a better chance against Hibs. Even though we beat them on Tuesday, I fucking hate Ross County. I don't think I've ever actually seen us even draw with them. Tuesday night will be the only home game I miss this season, so it was no surprise to me that we finally took points off them.

I'd rather see a Raith vs Ross County final. Now that would be fucking hilarious in my opinion.

All I'm going to say is that at this current moment in time, I don't care who we get unless Ross County get through and they would be a natural preference. We've pulled off three fantastic shocks and I hope it can provide us with the inspiration to pull through the rest of the season.

I don't care who we get as I said, we'll try to give anyone a game and the players will be up for it as it will be the game of their lives.

If it came 'pardon the pun' out that way would you get an erection.

But seriously, I would love it because it would probably mean the OF would be drawn together and might even get 'pumped' in the final.
It's badge, it's a number, it's scoring a goal. It's beating France not once but twice.
It's having a pie, it's joy, it's sadness. It's McFadden's goal from 30 yards.
It's my goal at the 5-a-side. It's your first game, it's your last.
It's winning, it's losing. It's Italy at home.
It's the Third Division, it's the Scottish Cup Final.
It's having a dream.

IT'S WHO WE ARE.

County still have to make it past Hibs before any talk of semi-finals.. But if we do beat them.. Then I think it would be best if County and Raith avoided each other as that would mean one club going out without getting a "big tie".
I think it would be best if the two teams were to get either Celtic or Rangers/Dundee Utd.

Both teams would give these teams a good game - and who knows may met each other in the final. But I would imagine the SFA will have a couple of the ball slightly warmed in tomorows draw so that they get the final they want.

The SFA are hardly going to draw the In Firm together in the semi-finals and allow one of the 'minnows' (Sunday Mail, March 14, 2010) to spoil their show piece...

Absolutely.

I still think Hibs will beat County, but that won't change the draw.

Rangers vs. Hibs
Celtic vs. Raith Rovers

I would be good to see another 1st division teams in Europe again. Ross County would obviously be the prefered option not just cause i dont like rovers but it would be great for a relitively new club to experince a day at Hampden and some fixtures in Europe.
So Fucked, I Can't Believe It

This!

Sums up my feelings as I would be far more confident of beating Hibs than County in the Semi Final.

I dont care who we get. I really really dont.

Its a Scottish Cup Semi Final.

I dont care.
Long ball (often colloquially referred to as 'hoofball') is the term used in association football to describe an attempt, often speculative, to distribute the ball a long distance down the field via a cross, without the intention to pass it to the feet of the receiving player.

It is a technique that can be especially effective for a team with either fast or tall strikers. The long ball technique is also a through pass from distance in an effort to get the ball by the defensive line and create a foot race between striker and defender.[1] While often derided as either boring or primitive,[2] it can prove effective where players or weather conditions suit this style; in particular, it is an effective counter-attacking style of play in which some defenders can be caught off-guard.

Scottish football is fucking corrupt so it's odds on we will get one half of the Old Firm.

Can't really complain given we were playing to crowds of 12 from Peterhead last season.

I'd love it if we drew one of the Old Firm.

Let's face it, to win the cup (;)) you've got to beat everyone in front of you. There's no point hoping for the weaker teams, especially when they're all ranked above us. No matter who we draw, we're going to be underdogs. In my view, it's better to be massive underdogs.

Also, do you really want to see Ross County v Raith Rovers at Hampden Park? It'd be dreadful. And if they move it to one of the Dundee/Perth grounds, it loses a large sense of the occasion.

Whoever it is, bring them on.

Aye, especially if it's the final :D

It'd be great. Aye, the sponsors and telly men would absolutely loathe it, but it would be great for the First Division.

Still, we've not knocked out Hibs yet, plenty of chance of there being just the one SFL side in the semis :(

As long as we were drawn 'away'. Seems to be the only place we can win in the cup. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

Gregory Tade:
It might be the time to show my swagg, and win the league, because hiding is not my style and, enough with: the hopefully, maybe, let's hope so and other. Let's be arrogant, and come out of the closet and say it proudly like a team who deserve it more than anybody else: We will win this league because we owe to fans and ourself. So thanks to all your support we'll deliver or try our hardest.

I don't know what I'd find more funny: a Scottish Cup final involving Raith and Ross County played out at a half empty Hampden while the world laughs at Scottish football due to our two clubs or seeing Dougie Hill, a part time plumber, up against Robbie Keane.

Well, it is amusing enough for Raith to be at this stage so long may it continue.

I'd love to see Gregory Tadé bearing down on Davie Weir, especially if he did him with one of his trademark "I definitely meant that" step-over tricks.

Anyway, I think it's written in the stars that Davo is going to make it back for a cup final against Celtic, so he can crock Robbie Keane with a flying challenge and give us a fighting chance...

I thought Dougie was playing in the Juniors, nice to see him playing for a good club.

Yeah, that was me. I don't know if it's actually still kicking around somewhere. If it is, it'll be at home, and not on my laptop, so I can't even resurrect it at the moment :(
