Just secured a season ticket for the game, hopefully the walking booking is nowhere near the starting line up I'd rather the no thrils Anderson any day.
Also Main? if I get to the ground and hear that United's number one cheerleader is in goal I'd be tempted to walk straight back out.

My first experience as a neutral punter at an Aberdeen game was a rubbish 1-1 against St Mirren last year. It was one of the worst games I have ever been to. I can say however I went to a couple of more games last season at Pittodrie because I am a football fan, not just a St Johnstone fan, and attending a live football match generally beats pissing about in the house even if it is dreadful. Please correct me if I'm wrong but from your sole experience of a Saints game it sounds like you aren't in the habit of attending matches outwith Aberdeen games. I would be quite happy to be corrected by the way because some of the football I have watched at McDiarmid over the last seven years in the first division was enough to scare anyone away.

If Aberdeen are not involved then I generally couldn't care less who is playing. I have no EPL team or anything like that. I quite enjoy watching Spanish Football as it is usually pretty entertaining and decent quality. It's quite rare that I would actually attend a game as a Neutral as Scottish Football is just not value for money. I think that trip to McDiarmid that day cost me £19 or something to get in. It was extortionate whatever it was and the game was a nil-nil draw against QotS and literally nothing exciting happened for the whole game other than my bevvy being taken off me.
I actually used to go to McDiarmid now and again during the week when I was a bit younger as it was easy to get to and quite a lot of my mates would go. I remember the likes of George O'Boyle, Paul Cherry, Nick Dasovic Miguel Simao etc quite fondly. I got a cigarette off a steaming Roddy Grant one night in the Ice Factory too
Edit to say: The sad thing is that most of the guys I used to go to McDiarmid with don't really bother anymore. I work with two of them and they now claim to be Arsenal and Chelsea die-hards. Wankers.

I've been to a few St Johnstone games. Twice against Rangers, they drew one but lost on Pens and lost the other. Once against Queen of the South which was a boring 0-0 draw that I went to as I was told going to the 'Ormand Stand' would make it worth it. It wasn't. Once away to Dunfirmline for some away day that was organised (and also the only time I've seen St Johnstone win a game in my whole entire life), the game at Pittodrie earlier in the season, which was fairly average and once away to Stirling where they conceded two penalties in as many minutes and lost 3-1 despite Stirling Albion already being confined to relegation, I believe that was the game that ensured Hamilton were to go up.
The game against Rangers that went to pens was good and the game at Pittodrie was good (based on Aberdeen being on the pitch) other than that it was fairly boring.

Who the f**k told you that?
St Johnstone fans.
I have a vague memory of seeing cardboard cut outs put into the stand whilst watching them on tv once, to make it seem as if the stand was more full than it was. I was intrigued about sitting next to cardboard cut outs. They'd taken them down.

I might also add I was at the Cup Final at half-finished Celtic Park when Dasovic scored a peach but Saints got beat from the ****. I was actually pretty gutted after that game.

Check you two out! Sadly, the both of you have probably been to more Saints games than half the folk in Perth.
I'm thinking that a game against QOS would probably have set you back £16 or £17 depending on how recently it was. A dreadful price to be paying for first division football I'm sure you will agree. The game in the Ormond stand was a venture to get a group of fans who wanted to create a bit of atmosphere at the game all in one end behind the goal. It was one of the ventures that wasn't a success due to the dreadful 0-0 that was played out.
The Dunfermline game you talk about though was a great success. We managed to take a support of just under 1700 to that game. Probably double the number that would have turned out otherwise. The Falkirk game on Saturday added a good 300-400 to the away gate in a similar venture but had the game gone ahead on the 2nd January, the normal support again was looking like getting doubled.
I think the Stirling game you are talking about was the very next game after the Scottish cup semi-final defeat to Rangers. We weren't in the race for the league at that stage and I think that game stands as the smallest away Saints crowd I have ever been in. I'm sure there were less than 50 of us. A completely bizarre game to go to as a neutral.
Finally, we reach the cardboard cut out saga. Hundreds of times it has been mentioned on here and no they weren't there to make it look like we had fans behind that goal. They were actually sold by Saints at £20 a go. If you bought one your name would be put on it and it the end of the season you got your cut out. Although other fans like to laugh at us about it, the truth it is it made us a wee bit of money. I mean it was an empty stand anyway so why not!?
Hopefully we'll see you two on Tuesday night!

More to do with living in Stirling, I used pop down to Forthbank every now and then, just sat in the St Johnstone end to chum a mate.
Will certainly be up on Tuesday, I have £40 riding on Aberdeen finishing above St Johnstone (at the start of the season it seemed like a reasonable bet) so this game carries more importance than it may have done otherwise.

It may have been £17 I think. I was actually quite shocked at the time that it was so much.

I wasn't going to bother but I live pretty close so might well go along. I am on Nightshift this week so can't go out for the craic first
I have no idea what kind of support we will have. We would have taken 4000+ if this game had gone ahead when it was supposed to, god only knows what we will have now.

Unlucky, I went to a Aberdeen v United game a few years back prior to a night out up there a few years back. finished 4-2 to united and was a cracker helped by the fact I got in for £12

Despite the couple of mad moments recently from Smith i agree wholeheartedly. I suppose the fact that he has been coming out as a sweeper shows we have pushed forward that bit more. It also shows his confidence is growing which is normally a good thing ( exception Mr Rhodes) with keepers.
Really looking forward to this one, unfortunately bragging rights over the dons brother in law will have to wait if we win as he has run away on holiday!!

aberdeen have been shit in recent times, and we always struggle against the shit teams, so im gonna predict a 3-1 defeat, it would be great if we did win though, we could put the pressure on the jambos, and aberdeen would have to worry whats below them as they get sucked into the relegation zone.
but like i said aberdeen are shit, so we will get beat 3-1.

ignore the aberdeen fans, they are just fishing or should i say- fashing.
They have the worst accent in the world!!!!!!
i was working in inverness a couple of years back, and there was 2 aberdonians working beside me, and i didnt understand a word they said, to this day!!!. on the one hand you had inverneeshin guys , which there accent was a bit weird, but friendly!! and you knew what they were saying, but then the aberdonians started speaking, and it was like- brrrrrrrrrrr fit yrrrrrrrrrrrr fash brrrrrrr fash whrrrrrrrrrrrr grerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr fit fash trrrrrrrrr, feck knows what they were saying???? i think they were asking for a screwdriver or something, but i just pretended i was deaf, because it was so much easier.
so, is the aberdonian accent- the worst in the world? (and thats coming from someone who has fifers and dundonians as neighbours) so you cant say i dont have expierience of shit accents!!! so is it?
p.s. im not fashin, just want your honest opinion????????
