Billy Whitehurst Newcastle United v Everton 1985 on Paul Bracewell still takes some beating. Bracewell didn't play for a few seasons.

Taribo West (Inter) on Andrei Kanchelskis (Fiorentina). Didn't end Kanchelskis' career but he was never the same again.

tried to find some of Celtics early games in europe on t'web and failed.
When they came up against Italians, wee Jimmy Johnston got cut down every 5 minutes or so and each tackle seemed worse than the last one.

I remember one horrendous tackle in the world cup in Spain but cant remember who dished out or who received. theres old age fur yePosted Image

Youssaf Safri breaking Colin Healy's leg during a Norwich v Sunderland match. Similar to the Ramsey injury. Healy got done big time...

Personally, I'm not too sure about the ones 2nd and 3rd from left. They seem to resemble a disease of some sort.

Sol Campbell really annoys me in the aftermath. if I was the ref I would not hold back in nutting him if he came up to me prancing about like a poof flinging his arms about everywhere.

It has nothing on Brian Jensen doing his best to show what a flying ram headbutting would look like.

"I remember all of them, and every single one was a deliberate stab through the heart of Hibernian Football Club. Nothing against the fans but you lot have to understand that when Hibs didn't sign me, I wanted revenge. Some folk laugh at that and say: ‘What, all 27?' I suppose maybe 25 were punishment; the other two I banged in just for the hell of it."

This could've been really bad.

It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.
Die, die, die....I can't

a yellow card there was an utterly disgraceful decision. can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and david weir put that challenge in on henry? henry would have went ballistic, wenger would have had a heart attack and the media a field day.

He was very lucky. Ofcourse that goes "against" the grain of Arsenal being the team everyone bullies.

In a similar vein - Gerrard's tackle on Naysmith comes to mind as one that should have been a red card and never got it.

Likewise with Kuyt's horrific waist high lunge at Phil Neville (IIRC).
