Maitland left Hamilton as they wanted to go full-time - I think there's 0 chance Alloa would go full-time.

If they do they'll also have to find a new manager.

Is AM still high up at Cullen Packaging, Ronnie Mac's company?

Financial Director from what i can see. The firm went into administration last year.
'Terracing celebrations were suitably extreme. Indeed, the Cowdenbath faithful - all 60-odd of them - kept the rest of us entertained during the not infrequent dull moments. They regaled us with everything from "Cooper's a poof" (difficult to substantiate) to "black and white shite", a suitably assonant summary of the quality of their opponents'

I'd imagine that would be a very bad idea. Asumming that Airdrie come down, I'm not sure what Raith and Ayr's full time/part time status is but it's not outwith the realms of reality that a good part time team could finish above at least one of them. That has to be anybody who goes up's aim. If a 2nd division team goes up through the play-offs then there'll be at least two fully part time teams there and there would be a chance of staying up.

IF (and its still a huge if) Alloa go up, there's no chance in hell they would go full time.

Alloa's aim is to be the best part time team in Scotland- no more than that, for the forseeable future anyway.

Any team in this division going full time if they went up would be suicide.

This.

And it would be the same for any team currently in this league.

And can we please f**k off with the Alloa getting promoted threads. Thank you.

No - and I suspect Stirling Albion, Brechin and Cowdenbeath, if promoted, would also stay part-time.
Until the philosophy which hold one race

Superior and another inferior

Is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned

Everywhere is war, me say war
That until there are no longer first class

And second class citizens of any nation

Until the colour of a man's skin

Is of no more significance than the colour of his eyes

Me say war

There's no "suspect" about it.

Stirling Albion went up to Division 1 relatively recently and stayed, necessarily, part-time and their financial position is even worse now.

Brechin City don't have the support to maintain a full-time football club. No offence, it's true of almost all the current Division 2 clubs.

Cowdenbeath, as above, don't have anywhere near the support to have a full-time football club, not to mention the facilities they have would need to be substantially upgraded should they win promotion, which I don't think they will, for the record.
We will never forget you, Guido.

A team assembled of the best part-timers in the country will perform better than a full-time side assembled on a micro-budget.

No chance in hell will we go full-time unless we stay in the 1st for around 5 seasons (which i highly doubt) getting up and surviving next season would be a huge achievement for us.

No team can go full time as long as they have to pay £250 for a ball.

It was too funny to get over it that quickly. You will have to indulge me a little yet.

I agree. It was swept under the carpet a bit at the end, but the fact that number 250 wasp still seems to believe that it's entirely possible to be nicked and charged with theft for kicking a ball over a fence is more than a little bit funny

Don't think anyone in Alloa works full time - unless they're on benefit as well.

The only place where your dream becomes impossible is in your own thinking.

Aye, you've already said that it was a RUMOUR. You still found it plausable enough to regurgitate on here though. And you still do, don't you

The main reason we're in such a financial mess was being full time for a few years in the 90s. We've never recovered from that stupidity.

So, to that end, Alloa would be fucking stupid to even think about it.
