Our second goal in the 3-1 home win against Clyde. Ball comes off inside of post and lands perfectly at the feet of McAllister for a tap in - a thing of beauty it was. :)

(and no, I'm not being serious... but I am struggling. Can't remember many 'screamers' although we've had a few free kicks go in but Charlie King's last minute equaliser 'ping' from outside the box after Clyde thought they'd won the game seconds earlier is the best I can think of, mainly due to the moment where he just had to produce something. Wasn't a particularly rasping shot but it saved a point for us at the death)

Yea it was a screamer!

Our defence did back off too much tho and gave him plenty time to get a shot off.

1 Jonny Smart v Dumbarton
2 Scott Thomson v Brechin
3 Stewart Murdoch v Arbroath

Despite it being an up and down season in terms of results, the quality of goals has been excellent....
The score remains 4-1 and counting...

Considering the keeper wasn't even in his goal, I wouldn't quite judge it as goal of the season material. Good finish though.

We haven't really scored any 'spectacular' goals this season. Mark Archdeacon's free kick against Peterhead the other week was an absolute pearler. Chucky's free kick against Arbroath at Gayfield was a good strike as well. From open play you'd really be struggling.

I'd agree with that but it was well worked from Janny's cross, the keeper comes out, McAllister heads it back across goal and Archdeacon still has to pop it over a defender to get it in goal. Like i said, not too shabby ;)

Neil McGowans tonight against Dumbarton was fantastic. 40 yard volley in the top corner. Superb.

This time tomorrow he'll have pinged it in from Helensburgh.

Hopefully once Stenny and Dumbarton get their highlights up to date we can have clips of McLachlan's, Strachan's and McGowan's

And that was not a good start, losing the Doctor at this stage of the game is pretty catastrophic, the Mafia will be creaming themselves after that kill. Particularly when the Doctor is as skilful a player as Forehead is.

So to summarise:

The Sons have conceded two goals from opposition half this season - Sellars for Arbroath and Mann for Peterhead

Smart of East Fife scored a fine o'head kick against us whilst Crawford executed a beast of a volley at Bayview.

McLachlan cracked in a 30yd free kick at the SHS in August and their full back burst the net from 2.5 miles out on Tuesday.

Arbroath's 3rd goal in the 2nd match at Gayfield was a brilliantly worked team move whilst McBride of Cowden also buried a cracker aginst us.

Stirling's Aitken used our goal as target practice in our recent midweek game - cracking in two screamers.

Anyone care to add? This thread should be renamed FFS!!

Devine's wind assisted free kick at SHS in the 3-2 game wasn't far from the halfway line.

Absolute cracker. No question. Worth the ovation he got from the home support.

Can we have him for next season? That was worth the entrance money (for those that paid at the gate).

Fair play. It was a cracking goal, would of been better if it actually ment something .

No, no you can't :P.

It meant someething to him, Scott. That goal on his CV (and on Sons TV) will open doors for him, I'm sure.

Point 2 - OK, fair enough. I was just thinkin of the lad's career - in the second Div rather than in the third next year. :ass
