Well, at least this hasn't been discussed before.
We don't have many fans. Simple.

Oh I know you don't, same with the majority of teams in Scotland with the lure of the OF. But the reported 2,030 that were at the game on saturday is considerably less than last seasons average of 3,823.

There were 200, maybe 300 Aberdeen fans there.

That narrows it down some what. Second Season so novelty has gone and they realise the division is boring.

Yes I know, a considerable amount to what they would have took last season.
Anyway there doesn't seem to be a boycott on the go, and that is all I was wanting to know. Just saw there was only 2k at the game on Saturday, which is a stark contrast to last seasons average attendance and just wrongly assumed from that there was some sort of protest going on.

I agree. In fact, until it was pointed out, I was under the impression we had a four sided stadium that was packed to the rafters and that NDP was a cauldron of noise.

Our core support is around the 1500 mark. This is unlikely to change much, and certainly not in the more direction.
Aberdeen's support last season was the best I have seen at NDP. Filled the away stand and the gazebo. What a change on Saturday.

The away support going to NDP could be exagerating the drop in 'home' support by a fair bit then!

It probably is a factor as well. Last season a lot of away supporters would have went to NDP as they've never been there before. Now the 1st time novelty has gone, and that will make a difference also.

Nice.
For a team of the size and stature of Aberdeen, and going by past Aberdeen crowds at NDP, 200-300 is pretty poor.

I suggest topless cheerleaders.

I've noticed our attendances have dipped since the 15yr old chairleaders were binned as half-time entertainment at NDP.

Oops!
That sounds like a plan. If you pm Dundeebarry, Fife Saint or Wendy Who?, they and their troupe would doubtless give cut price rates. Extra for no nipple tassles or clamps though.

Not wanting to open any old wounds from your promotion season, but i am sure it helps a club to have a few seasons at the top of the very competitive first division. You get a large amount of 'part time fans' (i hate that term) that get to experience a winning feeling at the club and you have a better chance of getting them coming to further games. Storming straight through the division into the SPL where you have to get used to losing on a regular basis is not conducive to building your fan base.
Watch our average gate drop next year re your first point.
