Can I ask the Fife supporters two quite particular questions here; what shape are you likely to play? And those defenders whom operate on your left hand side (left centre half, full back and/or wing back), how tall do they stand roughly?
Just a couple of curiosities. Trying to envisage how the game might go.
Crawford got Alan Lowing in from Rangers I hear? Some bit of business that. There must be an abundance of good right-sided defenders in the first division I tell you.
(Maybe this is a touch early but that Alloa thread was making my eyes bleed - if this goes tits up at least I can shut the thing).

The weather should be fine. No chance of this being off I think.
Shape? Who knows, we started with a 3-5-2 the went to 4-4-2 and then seemed to go to a 3-4-3. The defence was constantly being shifted around. Although, to be fair, we have a massive injury problem with defenders at the moment.
Left sided defenders will probably be John Ovenstone and/or Bob Campbell. Not the shortest and Ovenstone, especially is good in the air. I'd be quite happy of Clyde pumped long balls down that way.

That's a shame, because by the sounds of it a lot of our good play against Alloa came from Jordan White winning headers on the right wing which brought Doolan and Stewart into play. I suspect that's why SP's asking actually
East Fife better use their cheap balls for this one, because if we're winning with 5 minutes to go and I find the ball in my lap...
edit to delete my travel plans. Can't be doing with that pish

On the evidence of Saturday, Clyde should find a lot of joy by attacking us pretty much any way they fancy. Yes, even Clyde fans will rarely have seen such defensive ineptitude as we displayed.
Unless you've got a fu<ker of a kick on you and can find the Firth of Forth with your punts, we could probably retrieve the balls.

Surely the power station or train tracks are easier, even from the stand.
Please tell me you have a number one wasp-esque village idiot that will tell us we will get charged with genocide from fife's finest for breathing in a provocative manner. It fair old adds to the sheer joy of the thread.

It's partly why I ask, aye.
If the White option was nullified and Fife lined up with a fairly competent three (or especially competent two) man midfield that could put a dampener on our evening.
But considering their seemingly severe injury problems and also the damage which Cowdenbeath done to them on Saturday, perhaps we'll be able to play high up the park. It'd certainly be a more interesting spectacle in that case.
If Lithgow's available he should come back in. Dropping Kinniburgh/McGowan is harsh but for the best in my opinion. It's a tough choice between the two; Neilly's experience, mobility and ability to pass it does sway me a bit. Depends who partners McManus to an extent as well.
Only other thing I'd add is... Borisovs/Sawyers maybe introduced earlier on this time round? (For Stewart).

Cowden only humped East Fife because they had an off day and not because we ripped them to shreds of course

Get the choo choo to Kirkcaldy, jump on any bus destined for Leven or St Andrews (best would be No.7 which stops right outside Bayview), but Leven bus station is only a 10 minute walk from the ground is just on the other side of the Power Station.
As for the game, well feck knows. I want to see a reaction from Saturday's disgusting performance, if it was me I would ditch the lot and give the fans a game and if Robert Campbell is anywhere near the team, I think I might cry. We have missed Smarty the last 2 weeks, so here's hoping he will be ok for Tuesday.
I would also give Cargill a game, as alteast he showed some fight when he came on on Saturday unlike the majority of the other dumplings.
We MUST win tomorrow. If we lose Clyde are right on our tails and Arbroath will soon leapfrog us.
.................Brown
Lowing Smart Kerr Ovenstone
Cargill Muir Young Linn
........Crawford McManus

Fucking hell, grow a brain eh. Cowden were good on Saturday but if we'd been anywhere near as competent as usual, we wouldn't have been beaten by 4 goals. The fact that we put in our worst performance in years had an absolutely massive bearing on the result. Get that through your thick head.
Most of your goals came down your right. The fact that we took off our left back and replaced him with a winger, probably helped that, no?

Can't remember how many we had scored when the left back was replaced (four I think) but to replace him with with a winger was the daftest thing I've ever seen. Can't blame Baikie for that!
Tbh Crawford doesn't seem to have a clue - offered no encouragement to any of his players and although he scored, he had another poor game.
If Danny hadn't subbed McQuade Wardlaw and Toorie it really could have been double figures.

1. Let's say it was 4. 4-2 is a bad defeat, 6-2 is an embarrassment.
2. The only people who've mentioned Dave Baikie on this thread are Cowden fans who probably saw very little, if not nothing of East Fife under Baikie.
3. Crawford was rubbish on Saturday and needs dropped. As galling as Saturday was, these things happen. We have played some decent stuff under SC and there's no doubt we can get back to that. Staying up this season will suffice.

You will stay up but only if your manager realises that he isn't the player he was and gets your defence sorted.
Great for Cowden to see the heads go down after three goals - but that's when Crawford should have been encouraging the guys - not wandering around shaking his head.
And we do need you guys in this division - only decent gates we get!

I don't see why McCormack doesn't just line up with the same 11 as Saturday and be ready to freshen up if it all goes tits up. Park is the middle seems a decent decision and McLachlan's experience at RB, a positon in which he has played at First Division level, seems more sensible. As for the issue of White, can't we just switch him and Stewart over as Lowing wasn't the biggest player, although he was very good for us IMO, and could struggle in the air against the physicality of White. I believe Ovenstone used to play centre-back for a few teams and Stewart's pace probably has more chance troubling him than Lowing. Also, the partnership at the back should really be Lithgow and Kinniburgh for me, as they are strong enough to deal with McManus' threat(hopefully) and McGowan's ability to play competently at both LB and CB should prove vital if we need to keep it tight in those closing stages.
As much as I'd like to think that opur performance at the week-end was something of a signal, I just can't see it.
East Fife 2 - 0 Clyde.
