Captain_Sensible
I see the papers are running with the story that Levein is after Newcastle's Andy Carroll. He's got a Scottish granny. He certainly fits the Levein bill of a big striker at 6 ft 4. While I think it would be great to see Scotland get a striker of this calibre, I reckon he'll want to see if he can make it with England. McKee
To labell someone terrible after 35 games - all of which you've obviously seen - is quite ignorant.
Lambies_Apprentice
Yeah, we're better off with David Clarkson and Kenny Miller.....

McKee
I seen him a fair few times on tv and 2 games live. One of which was a friendly v Dundee United which i went along to last summer. So no i dont think its ignorant. I think its me having a view on a player that i think is terrible. He should of been sent off against Swansea for elbowing the lad. So how exactly is he terrible then?
McKee
As ignorant as labelling them as international calibre? Sorry, when exactly did I do that?
Lambies_Apprentice
First of all hes 6 ft 4 and we don't have any strikers remotely as big, and thats another dimension you can add to the team. Secondly hes scoring goals at a decent standard of football, thirdly, hes not even that old, hes just turned 21. Basing anyone on a friendly match is ridiculous. Its a glorified training session. Also aside from Steven Fletcher and maybe Boyd, the rest of our strikers are gutter.
McKee
He has started 35 games I wouldn't say any of that equates to him being a terrible palyer, apart from the lazy aspect, which is debatable. The guy is 6ft 4, and clearly a better option for turning a crucial game around, than say Iwelumo, Riordan or O'Connor. I don't see why anyone would be apposed to his joining, it can't exactly decrease the standard of the squad.
7-2
Sorry, when exactly did I do that? You didnt. You slated G_Man for coming to a negative conclusion about Carroll after only 35 games but you never slated the OP for coming to a positive conclusion about him after the same number of games. A tad unfair I would say.

Lambies_Apprentice
Was just really proving i have seen him play. Anyway if you want to talk about scoring at a decent level Chris Iwelumo scored for fun in the championship, would you have him in our team again? Remember here we are talking about international level we want him for. Iwelumo deserved his chance, he just made a c**t of it.
meat head
Having watched Newcastle around half a dozen times this season i must say Carroll looks the part and knows where the goal is and has the aeriel presence we need.

McKee
There are alot more scottish players who deserve a chance than an english player. Plus the guy is a thug You can't labell him a thug after one incident, that we have no real details on. And as for the elbow thing, well that sort of thing happens a lot, it's not really fair to judge a footballer as a person by what they do on the pitch. RobbieD
I've seen plenty of Andy Carroll. He isn't close to good enough.
McKee
If you elbow someone in the face off the field could you get charged with it? Well that depends. In most circumstances, no.

McKee
Well no, seeing as Carroll has never played for Scotland. Meanwhile Iwelumo, Riordan and O'Connor haven't done an awfull lot in their 21 games.

Plus the guy is a thug Yeah you are right guys like Don Hutchinson should have never played for Scotland, because he was English. Also while we are at it lets stop Germany from playing Klose and Podolski or the French from playing Evra.
