I'm not too sure why some of the Dundee fans are gloating. You tired two or three times to sign this guy. Seems Jocky Scott was pretty keen to sign him. Where was he being played today?

An unusually intellectual aspect to this thread in the field of logic!
1. The assertion that x=y and therfore x and y are the same thing is claimed to be simplistic.
The assertion is correct. Take the example: All dogs (x) are(=) animals (y). This is correct. but all animals are not dogs. Therefore x and y are not necessarily the same thing.
2. The onus is on the person who disagrees with something to prove that what he says is correct e.g. Melville did not bankroll the transfers of Griffiths and Harkins.
This is FALSE. The onus is always on the person who claims something is true to prove it is true. If you say God exists and I say he doesn't. I can come to you with the evidence that he isn't underneath my bed, in my toilet etc. You can reply that he is invisible or I looked in the wrong place. You can however easily prove the existence of god by showing him to me. In a Mexican stand-off, where neither party can produce evidence THE ONUS IS ALWAYS ON THE ONE WHO ASSERTS SOMETHING IS TRUE TO PROVE IT.
On a more prosaic level, I would have liked the guy at Dens but I still reckon we'll win the league without him. Don't ask me to prove it though because I'm talking hypothetics!!!!
Football is a useless passion

He played in a side that leaked goals for fun last season and was eventually relegated. He might be decent, but that's it.
"The soul of a club is the product of its history and the history of a club is a product of those who toil in its cause with their hearts on their sleeve as well as the badge on their chest, who play with an awareness of where they are and in whose footsteps they tread."

This is total noncence I mean, melville has came into Dundee FC; knew the financial circumstances of taking over this football club and he wants to help it grow, not be a Romanov. The way I look at it is Melville is willing to provide funds, unlike many other SPL chairmans, and I heard he wants to re-develope the stadium at some stage; so what's the problem he is just trying to help.
