Hopefully Weatherson continues his crazy scoring record against the Queens and delivers the goods, I'm hoping that Simmonds starts this game so we can have a wee sniff of what he is like and I would like to see Russell coming on and getting a good run out.
My head says a draw but my big fat black heart says a win for the Ton.
Heart it is!, 2-1 the for the Ton with Weatherson and Simmonds scoring.
Queens Fans - We are looking at getting the last train home on Saturday, any boozers you recommend? Looking for a decent one that will be showing the 5:15 game on ESPN.
Cheers

Greens is the wrong side of town (although only a brisk walk along the river), but its a good pub and will definitely be showing the football.
Hopefully, come 5:15 the hoodoo will be broken

Team wise I would go with,
Hutton
McMillian (he didn't play Saturday so who knows)
Lilley
Reid (Andrews will probably start which is harsh on Reid IMO)
Harris
Burns
Quinn
McKenna (in place of Scally who did well vs Dundee, just think McKenna gives us more going forward)
McLaren
Holmes
Knight
Decent options from the bench as well, Hamill, McParland, Kean, Weatherston, Reid or Andrews, Scally or McKenna with Fox the only real certainty on that front. McAusland had a holocaust on Saturday and I left at HT so can't comment on Hamill but one of the boys told me he done well when he came on.

That new place Broon's would be a good option for him, as it's fairly near the station. Think its marketed as a sports bar so will show it, for the record its, here.
Edit - Big fail on the link from me, its on English Street and you should be able to see its quite near the station.

We have quite a nice problem at the moment. I'd be happy with Reid or McMillan at right back, Andrews or Reid at centre half and Scally or McKenna in midfield.

Is it even open yet?
I think the official opening is this Saturday isn't it? Sure I heard JT and / or some others from the squad were to do it post match.

I have no idea!
I drove past it, I think it was last weekend, and it looked open. I noticed the name change, but not much else, to be honest.

As for the game itself, I'd feel a lot more confident if it was at Cappielow! But these things have to end sometime, so maybe we'll just sneak this one by the odd goal.
A lot depends on whether we can handle Weatherson for once. If he scores the hoodoo will surely continue...
Also, let's hope there's nothing in the programme that winds up Jenkins this time around!!

When was the last time Andrews played a game - was it for us on Boxing Day? He didn't even play against the Celtic stiffs at the weekend. Anybody got any idea why somebody so lacking in match practice took no part in a training match - was he injured? Whatever the reason, I think it would be a mistake to play him in this because he can't be anywhere near match fit.
And I'm not just saying that because I think we shouldn't have signed him in the first place. If we needed a slow, lumbering centre back who is hopeless on the ground, who will give away daft free-kicks, cause the odd penalty and maybe even get himself sent off by diving into tackles there is no need to make, we could have got JT out of retirement.

They have the Arabic tv which shows many of the Premiership matches. No idea if Saturday night's one will be one of them though. It is primarily a restaurant though, especially on a Saturday evening. Not sure it's the place for a group of football fans to watch a match with beers.

No idea. There's no SPL reserve league any more but Accies may have used him in bounce matches between his return there and his release? Given the weather in that period though it seems unlikely.
I can only presume he was injured at the weekend, he was certainly there. I meant to ask why he hadn't featured but forgot to. Never the less, if he's fit I'd be surprised if he didn't play. I can't imagine he was brought here to watch games. He could have watched games where he was and probably earned more doing so.
Don't know how seriously injured Jordan McMillan is either. I guess his fitness or otherwise may affect selection. If he doesn't make it I'd expect Reid to go back to full back and Andrews would definitely play.

That's what worries me.
He probably will watch most games, although technically he will be playing.

Was he not caught out for their goal, though, and was he not a bit fortunate not to give away a penalty? And I seem to remember he was out of position at Firhill resulting in Reid conceding a spot kick.
I do appreciate that he has his advantages, but these are outweighed, IMO, by the disadvantages. He will generally only be useful against one type of opponent and will be caught out against the more mobile types.
I also think that somebody who has hardly played all season will take a good bit of time to get up to speed (perhaps the wrong word).
Centre back seems to be a real problem position for us. McAusland has lost it, McLaughlan is away and Reid has his bombscare moments. It seems Chisholm has real trouble finding people to play there. Only Lilley could be said to be a success out of the cast of thousands he has tried.

Yes and yes.
I'm not entirely convinced by him either but we'll see.
This would be a really good time to end our appalling Palmerston record against Morton. Logic tells you that Weatherson surely can't score here again, but I bet he bloody does.
To maintain an interest at the top end though, we really need to be entering our hopelessly congested Spring on the back of some wins. Home games against sides well below us in the table should provide the best chances, but I'll believe it when I see it. Right now, I'd happily kill for a scrappy ill deserved 1-0 win.

Was working for the Dundee game, but judging by reports a repeat performance of that day should be enough to overcome a poor Morton side. Sadly it doesn't work that way and I'm sure Morton's record in Dumfries will be playing on the teams mind as well as the fans. Keeping Weatherson quiet will be the key, and I expect Andrews will come in to do exactly that. Again I wasn't at the Celtic game, but I can't imagine Chisholm saw anything that would force him into making any drastic changes, with really only Scally or McKenna a selection headache.
Looking forward to my Christmas present of a day in hospitality, fingers crossed the weather doesn't put it back any further!

Did Weatherson not score last time Andrews played too? Anyway, I think this as good a time as any for the hoodoo to end, 2-1 Queens perhaps.
