Impact was awesome, a car crash albeit, but fucking awesome. But Raw will still have got shitloads more viewers.

Thought RAW was fine, read the Impact results so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out on TV given the amount that they tried to cram in.

Loved it when Jericho booted that wee midget albeit he lost.
I did enjoy the Bret Hart video at the start of the programme.

We open with the goosebump worthy introduction of Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Dare I say he is looking COOL AS f**k~~~!!! Aye, you can turn the music off now lads. Bret Hart wants HBK face to face. AND HERE HE COMES !!! BIZNISS JUST PICKED UP !!! This is fucking eerie. Bret Hart wants to call a truce. Aaaww, come on man. HBK isn't up for it and tells Hart he DESERVED what happened. But he then goes on to explain himself quite well and Hart offers his hand. They shake hands and HBK goes to leave. He then comes back and hugs The Hitman. Hitman wants Vinnie Mac now, but he doesn't appear. Good stuff from a surreal point of view, but disappointing opening promo, to be expected from the big make up.
Backstage and Mr. McMahon is with that shitty wee interviewer. He doesn't know Bret called him out, and says he'll call Bret out later tonight.
Melina is out. Haud on ... Bret comes back and his favourite Diva gets injured ? He'll be gutted !
Maryse vs. Bree Bella
This is not going to be good. Why are going right into a Divas match ? Perfect place for the Kofi/Orton match, all things considered. This match had a superb ending actually. Brilliant twist on the twin switch routine. Too short to be good or bad but there were signs at the start that these two were gonna have a stinker. N/A
The Miz comes out and says he might take Maryse if she wins the Diva Title. He says every day of the year belongs to him because he's awesome. I hope so.
MVP vs. Jack Swagger vs. Carlito vs. Mark Henry
I've got a feeling that Swagger will take this one. They've been hinting at the match between Swagger and The Miz for ages now. I'm not surprised that Mark Henry has gotten over in the last few months both as a heel and a face. WWE have finally got the big man's push right. A whole lot going on in this match, but none of it really meant much. I guess it was a fun TV match. Surprising result. I'd have thought Henry or Swagger. **
Chris Jericho says he has a good plan and he's going to go and see Bret Hart. Show and Jericho both agree that leaving RAW is not a good thing for Jericho. So Jericho gets Bret and says he knows Bret despises HBK. Jericho wants HBK to be the referee and "let instinct take over". Bret says he wants peace and isn't acting. He says he doesn't want to be like Jericho. Bret then just goes and takes Jericho down a few pegs. THAT was better !
Backstage with HHH and Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle's Cena thing.
DX © vs. Chris Jericho and The Big Show - Unified Tag Team Championships
In a rare nod to TNA in WWE, Jericho does the Hogan ear thing. I wonder if that was just Jericho sticking a boot in or a request from WWE. Very solid tag team outing from these four guys, going out as if there was a point to prove. They even went with a sort of extended formula tag thing which was kinda cool. This match, almost by default, takes it's spot as my 2010 MOTY, although I'm still to see Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles so I can't see it lasting long. ****
Oh, and I'll do a highlight of the match. Hornswoggle getting his head kicked in.
The Big Show looks down on Chris Jericho and then leaves, and that spells the end of Jerishow.
Mr. McMahon and Randy Orton are backstage. McMahon doesn't seem to want to listen to a word that Randy Orton has to say. Orton says he'll kick Bret in the skull if he gives the word. He gets #30 in the Rumble in return. McMahon wants nothing to do with Orton and gives him the brush off. Legacy then see Orton and say they might kick him out of Legacy.
Next week we have Mike Tyson. That will be car crash TV.
Sheamus is the next guy on my TV, and makes me remember why I wanted to watch Impact instead of RAW. Sheamus wants a new challenge. Sheamus actually cutting a decent promo here. Evan Bourne heads for the ring. He has to be kidding. King sums it up by saying "what does Evan Bourne want ?". Bourne thinks he can beat Sheamus and gives Bourne the chance to beat him. He says if Bourne wins, he gets a title shot.
Sheamus vs. Evan Bourne
Okay, I honestly have no idea what to make of this. I suppose a squash match would be nice. They honestly had me believing that Bourne might pull this one off. Sheamus looked better than he has before. The title seems to have energised him somewhat which is good to see. I'm even gonna rate this although it was essentially a squash. Fun stuff. *
They talk about "Dr. Death" Steve Williams in length which is nice to hear.
Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston
Legacy are at ringside. This match isn't too bad, but it's not even a notch on the match that they had at the PPV. I'm surprised they didn't give more because they obviously gave everything last time, which means they don't have to worry about the "leaving their best for PPV" thing that you get. **
Mr. McMahon is now on his way to the ring and we're gonna have the big final segment.
Right, McMahon then says that there's no reason to call Bret out because there is now closure to it. Bret Hart heads to the ring though. McMahon wants Bret to be the better man. Vince McMahon wants an apology from Bret for years of slander and stuff. Bret just wants closure. Vince McMahon admits that he does want closure as badly as Bret Hart. This promo is actually going downhill. Vinny Mac decides to boot him in the gut. Heh. Crap promo though.
OVERALL
********
Some good stuff on this show, and only one of those good things provided by Bret. Of course, this whole thing has legs on it, so I'm not overly fussed yet. What fusses me is that there's still no download for Impact. Decent RAW though.

WTF! Bret Hart's original entrance music, behind Motorhead's "The Game", is the best entrance music ever created for WWE, why change it?

Totally agree with you. WTF happened to his original music? That remixed faster version was terrible. That video above is the best titantron ever.
I watched Raw, first one ever (the whole way through) and it thought it was pretty poor. Although the Hitman did look cool as f**k.
Fair play to yous who still watch this, but the difference between now and the Invasion (when I stopped watching wrestling) is unreal. That DX vs Jericho/Big show match was a disappointment, that said I was only watching it for the Hitman.

That said, he basically told Vince McMahon he had no choice but to let him win. In that sense, he fucked up BIG time. But he HAD that option thanks to a clause in his contract.

He didn't make the right decision. The right decision could have been to job Bret some other time. He had no problem losing to Shawn Michaels. He DID have a problem losing to him at Survivor Series 1997.
Shawn Michaels knows a lot about doing that to guys.

Thats the problem I have with Hart. Why? What was soooo difficult about jobbing to Michaels in Montreal? It was a bullshit call from Hart. Given the fact that he had creative control, the wrong decision was on his part. What did he expect? To beat Michales in Montreal and then forefeit the title to go and join their biggest competitor?

As I said, there was the option to job him before that show. Bret Hart had no problem jobbing to Shawn Michaels. As for why there ? He felt he had to protect his heat in Canada. Hasn't been such a big deal nowadays ( at least not in some countries ) but back then, WWE guys were winning in their own countries if they went outside of the US.
There were plenty of reasons he pulled out the clause and, you do realise that Vince McMahon COULD have over-ruled it. He did the same thing to Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania XIV. Bret Hart said "I won't job" and Vince said "okay".
Vince probably seen a way to get himself more over as a heel since the Steve Austin thing had already started, and with Bret on the way out ... well, why the hell not ?
