When a new stadium gets built in Dundee it will be a proper football stadium, not a tiny-town legoland joke, that you and your st.mirren diddy mates bounce about in every second saturday. ;)

Ooooooh. The green eyed monster has appeared.

Now, now, just because we have a brand new stadium, no debt, cash in the bank, our own new state of the art training complex, are sitting 7th in the SPL, in the League Cup Semi Final, have players being picked for international duty and a host of youth internationals coming through the ranks, there's no need to be bitter.

Enjoy your future years of First Division misery in your dump of a stadium which you don't even own, with your massive debt, Paul McHale and joke youth policy.

Now one could almost suggest that if these two statements were reversed, it'd be a massive bite.

Good work Bigmouth

A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

Oh, and we are a good team. Not pretty, but stubborn. It takes a lot to beat us. We've been defeated once in something like 16 games. We'll get stronger. Try and stop us then.

Is this a 'we're going to win the league at a canter' type post? You know, the kind you're constantly prompting for proof of?

How are United gonna come up wi their share o the cash. They are millions in debt, Dundee really shouldn't be seen associating with such clubs. 8)

This idea is a complete non-starter.

Aside from the usual "We're loaded and you're no" shite, the costs involved in building such a facility would take years to even out. The area the two grounds are currently sited is shite, you'd be lucky to bag £3million from both.

Yes it's all very well saying money could be pulled in from concerts, training facilities and all that, but the initial cost would be extremely prohibitive.

If it ever did have to happen, we'll end up with a soulless concrete monstrosity somewhere on Riverside, or Caird Park.

BTW If it's Caird Park, please build it on that fucking abomination of a golf course.

But in all seriousness, i don't see this happening for fucking years, if at all.

If it were to make financial sense for both teams would the fans still have a problem with it? I appreciate that at the present time there will be nothing in the pipeline, but in the future perhaps?

Why would it make financial sense? Who is going to pay for it?

I at least know who produces what fixtures.

The number of people who go on about the SFA when their ire should be at the SPL or SFL is unbelievable. If you don't know the difference between the different organisations, f**k off out of here.

SFA, SPL, SFL, who gives a damn, they`re awe a bunch of bureaucratic wankers in suits anyway. Part of the reason our game is in such a fucking mess is that their are 3 seperate entities running the game.

No it will simply never happen. Dundee fans wouldn't go to Tannadice and United fans would not go to Dens. The only way forward would be a brand new stadium but even then I think that the fans ultimately (And Scotland's hosting hopes) would decide whether that would go ahead. United are only interested in this due to the fact they are in so much debt.

Eh! IMO, Arabs would go to Dens simply because we have some great memories of winning trophies there.

It would have to be the last resort though. I don't think either Dundee or United are interested in doing this at the moment. Don't forget, United board members own both grounds so it's our call.

It's a good job Mr Bennet has the interests of both clubs at heart as it would be an easy way to clear some of the United debt to sell Dens Park. He wants a bigger stake in the club and could do for us what he has done for you in taking over some of the debt. If he had the capital that is.

The new shared community stadium would only happen if there was massive investment from Central or Local Government and that's unlikely at the present time. I would love to see a new 25,000 seater stadium for both clubs but it would appear to be just a pipe dream.

Next to impossible due to costs being much worse than the costs of status quo, and due to the likely refusal of most fans to support a merged team.

But even if sharing 1 stadium (existing or new)

Well if it was going to be part funded by other people, or if plans were in place so the stadium could generate a bit of money outside football. Obviously these are possibilities. Now I appreciate that its very unlikely now but in a few years if it were to be proposed would fans be against something that were to make financial sense for both clubs?

Some tentative noises are being made, words are being chosen carefully so as not to offend, but I get the impression if positive noises come from Mr.Bennett (if still influencial) and/or the Tannadice Boardroom then the seeds of this idea could be sown. Decide for yourself if I'm reading too much into this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/ t...utd/8380907.stm

"In a television interview earlier this week, the multi-millionaire admitted he was a fan of “community stadiums” such as those shared by the top Italian clubs and in which local or national government had a stake.

Today, though, he stressed that was not an indication he planned to push for such a project here and that he respects the desire of the fans to stay at Dens.

“I am just in the door here and I am in no position to be preaching to the club or fans where we should be playing, and nor should I be,” said the Aberdeen-based multi-millionaire.

“What I said was taken out of context, because I was actually asked about Scotland hosting a European Championships and part of my reply was to say it would have to involve community stadiums in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh, with ourselves and United sharing the ground after the tournament.

“I certainly did not mean Dundee moving to Tannadice or United to Dens, because that would not be acceptable to fans and the fact is, in the current financial climate, there is no chance of any public money being made available for such a project."

This is the sort of fiscal naivety Utd fans accused Dundee fans of in 2003. You lot really don't have a clue about the whole Bennett/Dens situation, do you?
"Just when Jose Mourinho thought he had the answers, Pep Guardiola changed the questions." - Marti Perarnau (El Periodico)
"Dundee was the best, it was my second home," Nemsadze said. "I loved it very much. Georgians and Scots both have the same kind of character. They are all very warm people. Scotland will always be my second home. I was there for three-and-a-half years. For me, my best moment was the chip I scored in the derby against Dundee United."
"Lee is now at Dundee United?" an incredulous Nemsadze asked. "Ah ... he is a bad boy. He has crossed the street."

Why? Any true Dundee fan should go and watch the team at where ever the home ground happens to be.

He owns Dens. He also has a share in the "non-bank debt" doesn't he? He may decide to sell Dens if Melville doesn't cough soon. He does need some cash to invest in United, after all.
