I'd actually support this. It would have to be a purpose built stadium though- and there's no way that could be funded atm IMO.
"Just when Jose Mourinho thought he had the answers, Pep Guardiola changed the questions." - Marti Perarnau (El Periodico)
"Dundee was the best, it was my second home," Nemsadze said. "I loved it very much. Georgians and Scots both have the same kind of character. They are all very warm people. Scotland will always be my second home. I was there for three-and-a-half years. For me, my best moment was the chip I scored in the derby against Dundee United."
"Lee is now at Dundee United?" an incredulous Nemsadze asked. "Ah ... he is a bad boy. He has crossed the street."

And I suppose you have a fucking clue who runs the game in this country?

I at least know who produces what fixtures.

The number of people who go on about the SFA when their ire should be at the SPL or SFL is unbelievable. If you don't know the difference between the different organisations, f**k off out of here.

We need summer football and a sectional League Cup, no doubt, but we also need an 18-team SPL...

With you on this.
There were people who were furious at the SFA over our game with Dunfermline being off at the weekend.

I'd be all for it. A purpose built stadium on Caird park or riverside, with say a 15,000 capacity, its a good idea, but the cost of it, and the fact that it is a good idea, mean that the projects fucked. :(

I'm quite pedantic about it too, 'twas mearly a slip of the mind.

Of course, if Dundee don't get promoted this year, it might be the SJFA you'd have to worry about.

What would be the point?

The land both grounds are built on are virtually worthless...... just like Dundee's promotion hopes.

When a new stadium gets built in Dundee it will be a proper football stadium, not a tiny-town legoland joke, that you and your st.mirren diddy mates bounce about in every second saturday. ;)

The only way this will happen is if Scotland get the Euros with a new stadium getting built but getting the Euros now is probably unlikely as I think the competition is getting increased from 16 to 24 teams.

I hope it never happens, i hate the idea of it, mainly because i love Tannadice and its perfectly good enough for our needs in size and appearance, i would be majorly p!ssed off if we knocked it down and moved to a sh!tey souless new ground whether sharing with Dundee or not.

Both sets of fans should feel the same really, why pIss on that history for a ground we dont really need, a big part of any club is the ground, DUFC just aint the same club if Tannadice isnt around.

Oh and spare me the Milan comparison as thats a very rare thing, i could list an endless amount of city rivals that dont share, the vast majority.

It was the only positive about Scotland not reaching Euro 2008 for me, that the plans would go out the window, a bit peed off to log on and see Levein & Scott all for it, GTF.

I agree with every single word. I'd never want to move from Dens even if it is crumbling, Dens is Dundee's home and always will be IMO. Every fan should feel the same.

United are the bigger club and own their own stadium so rather than a merger there should be a straightforward takeover.
You know it makes sense.

I agree, actually.

That way, they'll have more trophies than us. They might even accomplish more top two finishes than us, or they might be able to reach a higher record attendance than us. Heaven forbid, they may even become debt free...

They might even stop raking up ancient irrelevant accomplishments in a vain attempt at trying to make them sound like a good team.

Irrelevant?

Winning numerous major honours and accomplishing a number of top two finishes in the top league of Scottish football is not irrelevant.

Oh, and we are a good team. Not pretty, but stubborn. It takes a lot to beat us. We've been defeated once in something like 16 games. We'll get stronger. Try and stop us then.

Ooooooh. The green eyed monster has appeared.

Now, now, just because we have a brand new stadium, no debt, cash in the bank, our own new state of the art training complex, are sitting 7th in the SPL, in the League Cup Semi Final, have players being picked for international duty and a host of youth internationals coming through the ranks, there's no need to be bitter.

Enjoy your future years of First Division misery in your dump of a stadium which you don't even own, with your massive debt, Paul McHale and joke youth policy.
