As printed in last night's Ayrshire Post, Ayr's only junior club Whitletts Victoria are offering Ayr United season ticket holders half price entry to their Scottish Junior Cup 3rd round tie against Dalry Thistle this weekend.

In the previous 3 meetings between these clubs there has been 10 goals and 5 red cards and with both teams in a recent run of good form the tie has the potential to be a cracker.

Whitletts Victoria v Dalry Thistle, Saturday 28th November, Kick Off 1.45 pm.
Voluntary Park, Glenmuir Place, Ayr
Admission: £5.00. Therefore with Ayr United season ticket £2.50

No the dog track bar wont be open. However the bar at Pro Soccer next door to Voluntary Park will be open from 10 am if you fancy starting early.

Good forward thinking by the Vics, hope you get a few extra bodies through the turnstyles.

Was only £4 at Spartans, and that's a much "higher" level (albeit horrifically bad).

Good deal though letting the supporters of the bigger local team in at a discount though. Should get a few through the gate as Banff in the winter doesn't sound the most fun (it wasn't fun in the Summer!)

I didn't know Ayr had a junior team - I may go to a game or 2 if Morton are far away. Where is the stadium?

I take it samwise makes every game when he/she is lecturing others about not going to games.

I can think of alot of reasons.

Money, family, sanity, variety. No money goes to your own club when you go to an away game.

There's no reason to go to all your away games. In fact, many fans don't even go to all their home games, and at £15 for a ticket, no atmosphere, a poor quality of football and freezing your arse off, I can't really blame them.

Yeah, as others have alluded to above - I have been to every Morton away game this season but won't be making the trips to Inverness or Dingwall, a combination of time/expense/boredom and a desire to see something a little different has led me to make the decision to miss these "far away" games and try something different. No problem with Dundee, Dunfermline or Raith but travelling on my own from Ayr to Dingwall is a bit much.

I feel I should go to Annbank games though, they are my closest junior team.

There were people who wanted to pay in full, rather than deny the Vics £2.50. ;)

Thats good to hear. We'd like to try and get more local support through the gates, especially if Ayr are away from home.
