Hi lads,
I'm a bit of a spaz on games consoles - I only really play a bit of FIFA. I do however own a PS3 and i'm looking for a game to just blast some monsters and these are the three i've been recommended.
Which one is best? I'd prefer if I didn't have to use the analogue sticks(?) but I fear I will have to on all of these?
Resident Evil available for £20 and the other two for a tenner.
Cheers

Resident Evil 5 is shite, but Resident Evil 4 is brilliant so I'd get that if you were. The Special Edition is only a tenner in GAME for the PS2. Bargain! And the story is about 30 hours long.

Most PS3's don't play PS2 games twisteh.
Dead Space is the best, hands down.

Any opinions are not necessarily my own but those of the BBC.

You should have bought F.E.A.R. 2
It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.

No he shouldn't have.
F.E.A.R. 2 is a decent game but no more. Dead Space was one of the best games released in 08.

I lament the loss of the survival horror. Those games are just action games with a few startles thrown in.

There's always Siren on the PS3. It's a horrible shitty little game, but it is survival horror.

Too true, how can they call resi 5 a survival horror? its not remotely scary and there are no accuall survival elements to it, true you need to fight to stay alive in the games, but what games dont usually include that?. And how can it be that while wandering africa of all places you can find a massive stash of pristine modern weaponry, solid gold and diamonds just lying on the street?. In my eyes if its a survival game then your constantly pressed for ammo, you take whatever you can get weapon wise and you have to battle for your life, not wander around a linear map. Id love to see a zombie game where the whole point of the game is to live, no ongoing plot or escape plans, just you and whatever you can find, pick out a house, fortify it, scounge for weapons, ammo and fellow survivors and just see how long you can last, as the game progresses the mutations become more sevear and so on, im many ways left 4 dead combined with "the last stand".
I'm gonna throw you in my DeLorean and gun it to 88.

Get Dead Space, it's quality.
Some parts of it were genuinely scary, at least I thought so.

Dead Space ordered and dispatched. Got Thursday afternoon off so it should have arrived by then and I can spend the afternoon with some cans and trying to work out how to use the controls correctly!

Exactly, Resident Evil 5 is no more of a horror than games like Tomb Raider & Uncharted.

Resi definetly had to do something about its gameplay tho, cause if you remember the first games with slow ass zombies, it was fun as hell but not overly challenging, you could pick your shots. But with resi they shouldnt have brought in those new bad guys. They should have went with human speed zombies like 28 days later.

I did play Resi Evil on Playstation 1 a few years back and there was one part in particular on it that just about gave me a heart attack.
I played it in my bedroom, tv at the bottom of my bed, sitting right in front of the tv with the lights out. The character was walking through a corridor heading for the door at the opposite end, windows on one side, eerie music, then all of a sudden about 4 dogs crashed through the windows and I absolutely kacked me pants!

I remember getting Resident Evil 2 aged 8. I traded it in 'cause it gave me nightmares.

Creepiest game I've played by far is Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the Earth on the original xbox. It's the only xbox game I still have (except the older Colin Mcrae games which are waaay better than Dirt) and play on the 360.
Cthulhu is also one of the hardest games I've ever played - both for puzzles and action - it was a real sense of achievement to finish it and I've gone back to it several times.
If anyone sees it on ebay for a few quid - buy it!
Oh yeah and back on topic - Dead Space is a fantastic game, loved it!
