Excellent, im willing to bet a few xboxes were punted out windows that day. Accually i know a guy who mods his xbox, he got caught out and he just sold it to a mate and bought a replacement that day. When you get caught they only ban that xbox, not the account, so all you need is a xbox arcade and your okay again. They should ban yer machine and wipe your achievements, hes on 40,000 so i know he would be pissed.

There's no way Microsoft would do that. If they ban just the console there's a high chance someone will just buy a new one, giving MS another £200 and continuing to pay a Live subscription. If they ban the account then there's a high chance the person won't bother. What would MS rather a person do, pay another £200 or don't pay anything at all?

The people who flash their Xbox to play pirated games know the risks and it is generally worth it. I paid £40 for a flashed Xbox and played £100 worth of games before it RROD'd.

And think of the money they loose if said person is on xbox live for 3 years, £130 for the machineand £120 for 3 years live, during that time they could buy copies or download easilly 300 xbox games. That guy i mentioned has 250 games on his achievement list, minus the arcade games they are all games he hasnt paid a penny for. if Microsoft got a fiver of every single game, lets say 230 games, they would have made just shy of 1200 off him in games alone before consoles,hardware and arcade software etc. Im sure microsoft gets more than £5 profit per game ive heard its closer to a tenner but ive no proof. That guy i think has had 4 xboxes banned, so i think if mircosoft forced him to become a legit gamer they would make a far better profit off him.
