As Div says bethere are very good, not cheap but worth it for the speed you get.
Actually, the opposite is true. ISP's who dont use a BT line tend to offer cheaper packages, if you switch your telephone line too - like Sky and Talktalk.
Be operate their own LLU offering, which is why they were one of the first ISP's to offer up to 24Mb connections, although they dont offer a telephone service, which is pretty unusual for LLU operators. It also means that you can only get their service if they have LLU enable at your exchange.
The best speeds you'll get are from cable or LLU operators, not resellers of BT Wholesale lines, in fact theres practically no point in moving from one BT Wholesale ISP to another
