Surprised there's not a thread about this, even though the 50 over game has been somewhat overshadowed by the 20 over version.

Watched the last couple of hours of this today. The Aussies got in first and racked up 250 or so, mainly thanks to Mitchell Johnson's quickfire run-scoring at the end of the innings.

England somehow turned 74-0 into an absolutely calamity, featuring piss-poor shots, a comical run out, and the icing on the cake being Strauss's complete failure to use the 3rd powerplay early enough in the innings. Indeed it was delayed so long that Jimmy Anderson and Collingwood (the only England player to get passmarks IMO) ended up facing a combination of Brett Lee and Shane Watson, both of whom were excellent.

Australia have a fucking shit batting line up, yet thanks to England's continuing ineptitude in one day cricket, are 2-0 up.

Five games to go.

Rosebowl on Wednesday next...

A turd of such epic proportions it has to be released in three installments. The first can stand on its own as a complete adventure. The second links to the first, but has a dark, inconclusive feel generating an air of foreboding and leaving itself wide open for an unknown ending. The final chapter has drama, excitement and moments where you think all is lost. A grand battle is waged where good overcomes evil and peace is restored in your gut.

A 45 page thread for The Ashes would suggest otherwise, wee man.

I'm not going to bother looking in it, but I suspect there were a fair amount of comments just abusing England. And probably just the same people repeatedly posting in it.

You wont be far wrong. Another totally pathetic effort from the batsman. Bopara out for 10, Prior out for 0 and Shah back in the hutch with 8. They should all be shot. Twice.

I was surprised that at 0-2 down there were no changes in the team..

Not surprised to see Strauss win the toss again. In 5 test matches, 2 20/20's and 3 one dayers the spawny shandy drinkers have won the toss 9 times out of 10. When will the gormless Aussie's spot Struass is using a double headed coin.

It's plainly obvious that England have all but given up on this form of the game. And quite rightly too, test cricket has the status, twenty20 is the new short form. ODIs are dead.

Indeed. England were woeful yesterday. Again.

The body language of a number of players suggests that they just can't be arsed with this series.

Worryingly, aside from Strauss and a decent bit of batting from the end of the tail, the middle order were again a series of utter failures.

Australia aren't even playing well, and yet now lead 3-0.

True. I know it's been pointed out everywhere but why the f**k is this a 7 match series? Who actually wants to watch 7 ODIs? Especially odd considering that they only had 2 twenty20s.

Only interest now is whether the Aussies can make it 7-0. Another woeful batting display by England.

Not true. I'm more fascinated in England's amazing ability to win the toss. They did so again today thus making it 10/11 in tosses won so far against Australia.

If so, it means One Day International.
It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. Spot on.

A five match ODI series and four match T20 would have made more sense.

Australia will probably end up winning this 6-1 or something, but i'd reckon there's a fair element of "We've won the one that matters already" attitude amongst England's squad.

Why would I not be serious? Are you one of these people that thinks that everyone has access to the same knowledge and memories as you?

And I suspect it should be ODI, not Odi.

I think that you could easily have entered it into google and got the answer.

Imagine having to do this to understand the meaning of every thread. 'Odi' sounds like a name. ODI I can see.

It's automatically changed from ODI to Odi in the thread title, it does it to anything, for example NFL would be chanegd to Nfl.
