He's a holding player for us. He's absolutely terrific. Aberdeen fans wont mind though - they've got Ifill. ()

I'm still jizzing over Griffiths, to be honest.

Not at SPL level he isn't ! One paced plodder !

Klimpl sorted out our corner problem rather nicely! Three corners rallied straight to his head in less than a minute.

Apart from the one that went in at the near post!

Ifil is a defender you moron, Would have love big Kimps here but sadly it never happened, I thought Griffiths was quite poor the other night.

klimpl can play Centre half as well you eejit.

Ifil was honking on tues, but still not as bad as Considine.

I'm just glad that in all of our SPL games that pairing has done really well and if Kimps was brought here he'd have been in midfield ya fud.
OH JIMMY, JIMMY, SEE YOU LATER.

I think you will find that Klimpl publicly stated he wanted to join up with Mghee at Aberdeen but Mghee replied by saying he wasnt interested in Klimpl any longer and wasnt what he was looking for as it isnt as we need a creative midfielder and a striker not a hard center half as we just got on or holding midfielder as kerr plays there.

I can assure you aberdeen still pay players far more on wages than Dundee and thats why we got Ifil in instead of Kilmpl because hes better and costs more on wages. Dundee have financial backing but nothing substantial Melville has thrown a few transfer fees out there but i wouldnt imagine these players would be on a great deak as the majority of them no other decent clubs were interested. Callum Melville is a dandy and if we wanted a player he would take a step back anyway.

Hahaha, I have to laugh at that comment. Ifil looks like a joke at centre half and if thats what you've got for the season ahead I worry for you. All he did was hump it out the park everytime a Dundee player went near him. An utter bombscare. Prob one of the worst players on the park on Tuesday night, well Considine was prob worse.

Never saw what all the fuss about him was. Flew about the park like a man possessed most of the time. Got booked in nearly every game he played in as far as I can remember.

Trust me he is never a centre half! Played 2 games there and was murder!

Was moved into centre mid and became a cult hero with his no nonsense style of play. Decent player but he was poor in his last few matches and is certainly not missed.

Saying that he is still too good for the Scottish 1st Divison.

So he's too good for us, but not good enough for Motherwell?

I've read what the well fans have said about him being dissapointing at Centre half, but my point was that he can play there if required.

In a word yes.

To put things in perspective, this is the SPL Forum and as at today Well are an SPL side and Dundee are not. That is the yardstick.

There's not much difference between the teams, really, but I understand what you're saying.

"The soul of a club is the product of its history and the history of a club is a product of those who toil in its cause with their hearts on their sleeve as well as the badge on their chest, who play with an awareness of where they are and in whose footsteps they tread."

I suppose the main difference is that Klimpl wouldn't get a sniff of a place in our Midfield or defence this season - last season, we wanted him on the teamsheet every week - so it's no slight on Dundee as such.

No offence, but at this precise moment in time Motherwell are 4th in the SPL and Dundee are languishing 6th in the First Division.

No matter what your one-off cup results are, and how much cash you've spunked on semi-decent players, league business is a totally different beast to cup games, and the above stat tells you all you need to know about the relative qualities of both sides at this moment.

The Johnnies knocked SPL sides out of cup competitions for years for fun, and while they're playing relatively decent football in the league, they've yet to record a win.

FWIW, I thought Klimpl was exactly what we needed at a certain point last season, but I think most SPL sides would baulk at his wages demands as they don't really show value for money. For a team going all-in with one last throw of the dice to get out of the diddy leagues though, he's an excellent signing.

EDIT: Any claims from Dandies that they "didn't want him" and "could have had him if they wanted" are just hot air though - McGhee would have walked across hot coals for him or Hughes, but he was only given 10 bronze groats and a packet of cola-kubes for wages.

Yeah it was kinda like that 2 seasons ago when we pumped you up the arse in the cup.

I like this Gannon fella though, could be a real find.

Truth is, it has been shown so often there is very little difference between mid table SFL1 and mid table SPL. Thats why teams that go up rarely come straight down, and teams that go down rarely come straight back up, and why so many SPL teams get turned over by the SFL in the cup. Its just bloody difficult to get up in the first place. I realise it doesn't suit you to admit that, but to my mind those are the most telling stats.

Right now, given my assessment of the 2 teams, I would back the Dee to pump you up the arse again, if we played tomorrow.

Why would I not want to "admit" it's difficult to get out the Diddy League - it plainly is.
